Hi! Headed to WDW Jan 3 -8 with family of 9. My husband is going home one day early and leaves a Park day unused on his magic band. My aunt is flying in that day and I want her to meet us at the park. I know the band is non transferable, but I've already paid for that day. Do I have ANY options? Thank you!

Tickets are not ON magic bands.
They are linked on MDE and once a ticket is used its attached to that person.
If you attempt to use the ticket for somone else they will be denied entry as their finger scan does not match the original user's finger scan.

You have no options.

If that person wants to go to the parks with you then they will need to purchase a ticket.

Its helpful to remember that tickets are cheaper the longer you stay. So If you got a 5 day ticket for your husband, its cheaper than 5 single day tickets. So you did not pay extra for a generic 1 day Park ticket, you paid for HIM to have an additional day he is not using. How much did that extra day cost you? For me, I do long stays for 10-12 days and an extra day is $10-20 per person.

Also, did you purchase your tickets as part of a package including an onsite stay? In those cases, Disney insists everyone in the room buys the exact same tickets.

Next summer, I am going to Disney with my brother. We have 14 day tickets that includes Memory Maker (special UK tickets). My father and stepmother may join us - but possibly only for 5-6 days. They'll still have to get the 14 day tix and it feels like such a waste. I've thought of selling them (and buying them other tix) but it is a hassle finding someone traveling in the same timeframe.

Why not just buy F and SM tickets for the number of days present? I don't understand why they also need 14-day tix.

UK tickets are very different than US tickets.

But...days here are like days in UK...14 = 14 Right? What am I missing?

We can't buy 14 day tickets, only up to 10.

I believe theirs only come 7, 14 or 21.

When you look on their page a 7 and 14 are currently the same price (great deal), good move by Disney.

If poster had bought at full price ticket, the new sale on 7 day is a better value.

But tossing out the sale, only $20 more for a 14 over a 7 would be worth the price even if you are only going 8 days or just in case.

WOW! That is a great deal. THAT'S what I was missing! Hmmmm....worth a move to the UK???

You don't have to live in the UK to buy and use UK tickets.
But, they do need to be sold to an address in the UK.

But the people coming for short stays could just use a credit card and buy a ticket at the gate.

Like US packages, the same tickets need to be purchased for everyone staying in the same room if you are purchasing a package. If we want to add them to our room, it involves also buying them the same tickets the rest of us have.

My point is that yes, it is a bit of a waste, but it still works out cheaper than getting them a whole separate room and dining plan.

I was trying to see if I could sell the tickets to someone else who could use it more, but it sounds like a complicated affair considering it will be tied in to our room and dining plan.

It may not work in your case, but you can usually buy everyone in the room the lowest number of days needed for tickets, and then those hanging around longer can upgrade once they get there. (Obviously if the 7 day and 14 day tix cost the same, that's not especially helpful)

My usual suggestion too :) But I don't believe UK tickets can be changed/upgraded on property (except to Annual Passes, I believe) since Ultimate tix are not available here.

That said - could this suggestion help you OP? Downgrade your tix for your whole family and then add on a day for everyone else but your husband once you are onsite.

The price difference between a 5 or 6 day ticket is probably not worth the hassle, but you could call Disney to see if they have any other options for you. If the package is still changeable, I would consider trying what @DopeyDame suggests. Change the number of days for everyone on your package to the lowest number. However, if you've made FP+ reservations for your upcoming days, that could create a complication.

You could also buy another ticket for your husband that is the correct number of days, and then save the longer ticket that he won't be using for a future visit. It can sit in his MDE account (that's linked to his MagicBand) and be transferred to anyone else as long as the ticket is unused. But then you're out another $340+.

Note: I don't think the OP, @barbara Bray, is from the UK. That was a different poster.
