We are booked at CBR 10/25-10/31 with FD. We are arriving in Orlando on Fri 10/23, planning a couple of days at Universal. We will have a room-only reservation somewhere for Sat. Night-- possibly Pop, or maybe at CBR, haven't figured that out yet. I would LOVE to activate our park tickets that day and start our Disney trip off with my favorite fall tradition--Soarin and F&W booths! Is there any way we can activate our park tickets before we check in for our FD reservation? We are also planning to upgrade to AP's on this trip, and it would be awesome to be able to take care of that bit of business our first night if possible. Thanks!

Park tickets are generally separate from your reservations. Even as a package. If you have your tickets or magic bands, then using them the first time typically activates them and starts the 14 day timer ticking unless I am missing something else.

It can be done, but it can only be done at a guest relations window outside the parks or at the GR at DTD. The resorts usually can't do it. But since you don't have a ticket attached to your first night stay, you wouldn't be able to pre book FPs for that day. There used to be a sticky on the Theme Parks forum that explained all the details, but it seems to have disappeared.
