Hi! Trying to make plans with friends who are meeting us at WDW over Columbus Day weekend. We are staying the entire week, but they are leaving on Monday. They are staying at Wilderness Lodge. We wanted to hang at their pool on Saturday, then eat at Whispering Canyon Cafe. The earliest ADR they had was for 9:15pm...way too late for our kids! Do you think if we "walked-up" around 5 pm we would have a shot at getting a table relatively quickly (less than 30 minute wait)? Should I try to call again about a week before the date we want to go? We have a party of 8. If I made 2 separate ADR's (one for each family at about the same time), what are the chances of getting seated together when we arrive? Any advice would greatly help! THANKS!! Kathy :earsgirl:

Lack of encouraging words - we were there several years ago - before the dining plan - during a slow season (early Feburary) - and walked up right as they opened....and were told a two hour wait. And there were only four of us.

But other people have better luck with walk ups than we do.

I would say keep trying to call as your vacation gets closer there's bound to be something open up!! From my experience walking up to a place like Whispering Canyon is not a good idea if you are wanting to be seated soon with that large of a party......they are usually really busy!!

My best advise would be to just keep calling them and hoping something will open up :) Goodluck and I hope you get your ressies :goodvibes
