I am in the market for a new digital Camera.
I need it to be easy to use so Point and Shot, and Ultra Compact (Pocket size), so i can pull it out fast and carry less. I need it to be 5+ MP a good zoom, SD media prefered as i have alot of sd cards. With the most features for shooting fireworks, outdoors like parades, and indoors, like resturends, and very very low light like rides. i need to be able to shoot while movine and not get a blured image. and I need a camera that takes more good then bad on average. Now i know that this is a very tall order but if anyone knows of a camer that has this or is even close please let me know! My Price range is $200-300 depending on extras such as needing more batiers to shoot and fill a 1gb card (Which i have). I have a Kodak DX4530 now and its ok, but i would like a more compact pocket model and the freaturs and pictures are ok not great. I am an adavance novice with digital cameras but my trip is not untill End of Auguest so i would like to get it soon to start my traning and get good before show time at disney. Thank you to all that will help me on my quest for a great camera for disney!

my family has a canon A620( similar to A610) that takes very good pics, 7 mps, small enough for a pants pocket, 4xdigital zoom, no stabiliazation, has lots of preset modes like night time, might have a fireworks( can't remember all of them) plus some nice creative type photoshop things in camera... like you can shoot b&w and have one color in part like a red coat or something/ low $200 for 5mp, $220 for 7 mp, aa batteries and sd cards. also has tv, av if you want to branch out and set some stuff for yourself...for about $100 you can buy a wide angle and telephoto converter lenses for it if you want to expand the zoom. it has a sports mode that got a clear shot of my constantly moving 2 yr old granddaughter but not sure how much movement you are talking about. if you brace yourself ( ie arms in) though these are pretty small and light enough i don't think you'd have much problem with blurring ...except maybe put it on a wall or something if you do take night shots

I would also highly recommend the A610 or A620. I have the A610 but you can get the A620 right now for about the same price as the A610 (Amazon, buydig, beachcamera, etc are selling it for around $215). They have 4x zoom which isn't terrific but I found that the digital zoom on my A610 is actually pretty decent up to 6x or 8x. For me, this still isn't quite enough but it all depends on what you consider good zoom. I don't know if this would be considered ultra compact - you may want to check them out in a brick & mortar store to see if it's small enough for your liking. Good luck!!

i LOVE my Pentax optio........almost fits in altoid container and takes GREAT pics.......5x zoom on it too

I'm going to give you pointers but not any specific camera because I've sworn not to do that anymore.

1. SD card: all point and shoots are now using SD cards except the ones made by Olympus and Fuji
2. If you need optical stabilization only cameras from Canon, Panasonic and Sony have it (make sure it actually says: OPTICAL IMAGE STABILIZATION or something to that effect)
3. If you need to take low-light pictures, the best on the current market is Fuji F10, second best is anything by Canon
