Help!

I've had a cold since Thursday. I'm always dizzy, lots of head pressure and either a runny or stuffy nose. In addition to those symptoms, my nose feels like its burning 24/7 (on the inside!). I had to come home from class today because that's how bad it has been. I've tried a humidifier, which helps a little bit, until I move away from it. I kinda can't carry that to college with me hahaha.

Has anyone had a burning nose before? Is there anything else I can try? I've tried researching online but there isn't much.

Thanks :)

If you've had a cold for a while and have been blowing your nose excessively, the lining could be damaged. Try using Saline drops - you can get them at any drugstore or grocery store. They will help to restore moisture back to your nasal passages. Also, don't use any menthol products like Vicks right now - the fumes will just irritate it more.

I would check out that dizziness, though, with a doc - could be ear infections.

Sounds like my cold. I stuck Neosporin up my nose and it's helped (not sure if it was the antibacterial or the moisturizing.) Gross, but I'd do it again.

My dr always told us, the minute it starts burning is the minute you start an antibiotic... Sinus Infection - bacterial.

Dunno if it'll work for you but a few months ago I was in your shoes. I used vaseline to coat the nasal passages and felt comfort right away. That stuff sticks. Not globs of it tho LOL. The neosporin sounds good too.

Yes...that's what it feels like to me when I have a sinus infection. I would go to the Dr. and get it checked out.

It sounds like a sinus infection, not a cold. You should go to the doctor because if it is you will need antibiotics.

Here we all having "burning nose" from it being so dry and allergies.

If you can get a doctor's appt., I would certainly get in and get seen.

The sure fire test for a sinus infection is to bend over, pick something up off the floor. If that is painful you have a sinus infection.

Thanks so much for all of your help! My nose is finally better from a combination of the saline solution and vaseline!

My dr. wouldnt give me any meds (it was actually a substitute dr, ours didnt have any appointments open). So I just took some antibiotics we bought from a pharmacy in tijuana :rotfl2: I'm finally starting to feel better!

Good for you!

Try using a spray like Simply Saline, and in the meantime, squirt cold water up your nose. It usually works for me.
