Help - Budget hotel/motel for a night

Can anyone recommend any budget motels near WDW that aren't scary? We are a family of 6 and are thinking of going to WDW a day early and will need somewhere to sleep (and maybe take a dip in the pool) near WDW.

So we will either need a suite that fits 6 people or 2 adjoining rooms and I'm looking to stay under or near $100 for the night.

Any ideas? I remember awhile back (many years ago) staying in a Comfort Inn or that type of motel for like $30 a night.

I just came on here to post about the same thing...LOL! we are a family of 4 though....we ususally stay in Cocoa Beach for a night or two beforehand...but this time want to just get an early start at WDW and need aan inexpensive yet CLEAN hotel for one night.

LOL well I might have to bite the bullet and just get something expensive that's nearby. I think the days of the decent $30 per night rooms are gone.

However, since you only have 4 in your group, you might be better off than I am. I have to look for a 6 person room whereas most rooms only hold 4 or 5 max.

Right now we're looking at spending close to $300 ($240 + parking + tax) to stay at the Hilton. That's a pretty high price but at least we know we're staying somewhere good, and it's close to DTD.

I checked Comfort Inn in Lakeland (it's a pretty good bit west from WDW) and it was $95 for a regular room in that case I'd need 2 ($190+tax.) That's not worth it to drive that far and stay in separate rooms.

OK we booked. My wife found a place for $104 that would accomodate my family of 6. She booked a room at The Palms Hotel and Villas through Orbitz. She got a discount somehow and got the room down from $134 to $104. Not bad considering we were about to spend about $280.

I posted somewhere else but will let you know that I have always used the Clarion Inn (used to be Comfort Inn) on Palm Parkway just outside DTD.

I have always been able to get rooms for about $60 a night or less and the hotel is run by the Rosens.

The fairfield Inn in Marriot Village always gets good reviews. It is under $100 and it has a nice breakfast. We were thinking of using it this summer before we checked into our resort. Check Trip Advisor.

Thanks for those suggestions. It's hard to find one room that will accomodate 6 people. I'll have to try early next time I need it. It seems the Clarion has no Vacancy the night I need and the Fairfield Inn doesn't have rooms to accomodate 6, I'd have to get 2 rooms.

It is a bit more than $30 (actually its about $110 including tax) but I would suggest the Buena Vista Suites http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/Resorts/bvsuites/index.htm (you can see more about it here and get to a link for room discounts)

We are a family of 5 (2Adults, 3Kids) and stayed there prior to our DVC stay last summer and will be doing the same this year. Room was nice size, clean and comfortable and best of all it is VERY close to Disney.

you can check in to your Disney hotel/timeshare as early as 6:30 am.
