Help! BRP, AAA, Dining Plan, etc!

Yikes! Has there been a lot of changes since our last trip in 7/04! We were not planning to return until late 2006 or 2007 but I can tell my DH is getting the "bug" to go to Disney so I have decided to surprise him with a trip for his 50th birthday. We have to go during a school mini-break on MLK's birthday weekend. I have our airline tickets for Jan. 13th - 17th. Now I just have to figure out the rooms, tickets and this fabulous new dining plan. I thought I would purchase the 10 day MYW tickets w/no expiration so we could use them on our trip later next year or 2007. I would normally get an AP but I don't know if we will be able to return in less than a year. It still may be worth it for one of us to get the AP for reduced room rates. But now I have learned that I to have my AP before checking the rates! (I really can't blame Disney for changing that because I think the system was abused before.) I would hate to go buy an AP and find out there are no deluxes available during the semi-busy MLK weekend. If I only knew for sure we were returning within the one year period! I am really interested in the dining plan. Can you add on the dining plan with a BRP room reservation? My other option is to go through AAA to get the dining but then I have to buy their MYW passes.

I am so excited to plan this trip for my DH. He will be so surprised. I also have to narrow down where to stay. It's between BC/WL/YC/Poly. Decisions, decisions! Any thoughts are appreciated.

You can only get dining with a package, not with any room only reservations. If you go AAA, you can still get 10 day, non expiration passes. When you book the package, just tell them what passes you want. With the MYW packages, you can get any admission you want as long as it's at least a 1 day, non-hopping admission. You're welcome to only stay 4 days but get 10 day, non-expiring passes with your package. Then you get dining, too! And the price comes out about the same as putting it together yourself.
