I would like to book dinner - preferably the chefs table for our anniversary during our February trip. I understand that reservations open at the end of October. Is this something I will need to call on at 7am or can it be booked at 6am with the online dining reservations.... thank you for your advice

I just took a look at V&A on the dining reservation page. There is no "book reservation" button. So I guess that neither the dining room nor the Chef's Table can be booked on-line. Sorry.

and its only 90 days no "plus 10" for V&A...

be prepared to call right at 7 too. there is only 1 chefs table and it goes quickly

good luck!

for those that have eaten there... is it worth it for the Chefs table or is the dining room just as nice... it will be my DH and myslef celebrating our 24 wedding anniversary and our DS who will be 17...

I did the main dining room, which is absolutely gorgeous; attentive staff, wonderful food. From what I understand, the main dining room is more peaceful and romantic than the Chef's Table. The Table is in (or right beside) the kitchen, with all the hustle and bustle, heat and noise of a working kitchen. It's under industrial lighting, not a lot of atmosphere. (Oh, and it doesn't take TiW, while the main dining room does - when we used it last January, the savings more than paid for the card!)

The advice that I've been given is that for the first trip, do the main dining room for the atmosphere, unless you're a real foodie/cook/chef and really want to watch everything being prepared.

The chef's table is 90 days only, but the main dining room is 90+10. At least it was when I booked for this September.

Unless you are a real foodie I would suggest the Main Dining Room.

The CT is an alcove to the side of the kirtchen and has industrial-strength lighting and all the sounds of a very active kitchen.

The MDR is quiet, subdued and comfortable with live harp music playing in the background.

My husband and I ate at the Chef's Table last January a few nights before our wedding. It was spectacular! Get the wine pairings!!!

As several posters have said, there is no 90 +10, they don't accept Tables in Wonderland at the Chef's Table, and you have to call right away at 7 am est. It may have changed but there used be no chef's tables on Wednesdays and Saturdays

Search the forum because there are several threads with strategies.

Call a few days before to "practice" so you know which buttons to push to get to V and A's.

Start dialing on the appointed day about 5 minutes before the phones open. Have several people dial (I was, my husband was, and both his parents were calling). If the message starts as saying the phones aren't open, hang up and dial again. If you get through, don't say hello, don't say good morning, don't say "I would like to..." just blurt out "CHEF'S TABLE." We were staying at the GF for like 10 nights and tried on several days to get the Chef's Table - using this strategy we successfully booked and got through once, on all other tries (I think we tried 3 or 4 different times) someone beat us to the Chef's Table.

Also, they do maintain a wait list.

Good luck!!!

Thank you all for your advice. I think I will be trying to go the route of the dining room. While my husband is a "foodie" I am not as adventurous as him... DS is willing to try anything about once.... I am concerned about the 90+10.... has this changed since they will be going back to the 180 days? Or will V&A still be 90 days... the reason I ask is we are staying at SOG so we can't get that extra 10 days... and our anniversary happens to fall on Valentines Day... so I am guessing it will be pretty busy there....

The chef's table is 90 days only, but the main dining room is 90+10. At least it was when I booked for this September.

But starting in October regular reservations will be 180 days. Why wouldn't she be able to do this for Feb stay?

V&A will most likely move to 180 days but the chefs table will still not be eligible for + 10, There's only one chef's table per night and everyone has an equal shot at it.

IF your 90 day mark is past October 27, you may have to call on October 27. That is the day that reservations revert to 180 days.
