I know that there is probably nothing I can do now, but if anyone has any suggestions for me I'm just beside myself - sick to my stomach. Our family (myself, dh, ds, ds, mil) booked 2 cabins (cat. 12) several months ago. The way the TA priced the trip was 2 adults, 1 child in 1 cabin, 2 adults in the other (even though my daughter would be in the cabin with my mil). Which made it very economical for us to take my mil for my daughter's 9th b-day on the cruise (fEB, 6)

The day the final payment was due last Monday, my mil said she didn't want to commit to the cruise. So we switched to just the 4 of us in one cat. 12 cabin. GUESS WHAT - todaY SHE CALLED & SAID SHE REALLY WANTS TO GO!

I will call my TA Monday, but can't wait 'til then to find out the bad news. If she gets a cabin by herself, single occupancy it will be 175% more than just a double occupancy cabin (per the brochure).

Has anyone ever experienced how tough Disney is with this kind of situation. Cruise is a 4 nighter - Feb. 6

DCL will charge the going rate as published, and she may not get the intended cat 12 stateroom if they're sold out. Otherwise, it looks like when you go to www.disneycruise.com to "book" the cruise that there is availability.
The good new is (or, bad depending on how you look at it) once she is inside the 60 day window, she'll think twice about canceling.
OMT, you can always "change" your DD back to MIL room to avoid the surcharge.

Thanks, but I did have to have my final payment made at 75 days out which was last Monday! Do you know for sure if the cancellation is 60 days out or is it now 75? If it is 75, I'm already a week past it?

I believe DCL has changed final payment to 75 days out instead of 60.....so you would be past it.

Did you let your MIL know what kind of pickle you are now in trying to get her back on board....the things we do for family!!!

Hope it all works out.

We booked two cabins in cat 9 19 months ago for my and my brothers families(four adults and four children) About six weeks ago, we asked our two FIL's (both became widowed in September) to join us. I believe the price for both men was about $2900 ($1450 each); however, my FIL said he did not want to go, but my brother's FIL is going. Since there will only be him in the cabin the price changed to $1900.

If you made the resi before the change to 75 days was made, you still have the 60 day mark.

I called Disney today & they said they will try & work with me. But since I went thru a TA, I will need to get with her early tomorrow & initiate the change.

Even though I'm outside the 75 day mark (only by 10 days), Disney was very understanding. There are still a few Cat. 12's left so I guess the ship is still open. I'm assuming the way they talked, there will be no cancellation charges.

I made the initiate reservation in Oct. - I don't know when the 75 day change went into effect.

You must love your MIL much more than I love mine! Good luck in getting it changed.
