Help me please!!!

We are taking our first trip to WDW November 7-14. I have my DD20 and
DS11 and I am trying to decide between Boma and Teppan Edo? DS can be a picky eater so. I would welcome any suggestions the experts have.

I would choose Boma everytime! We've got Japanese restaurants all over around us, so that's not "special". Boma has an "exotic" theme that you can't find on every corner at home. Don't worry about "picky" eaters at Boma, there are plenty of choices for adventurous & non-adventurous eaters. Kids buffet has pasta, chicken nuggets. The meat carving station is wonderful (and pretty "safe" ;) ) wonderful soups, fruit/salads and you can always fill up on the desserts :thumbsup2

I would choose Teppan Edo. On our recent 12 day trip, it was everyone's favorite meal. We liked Boma's, but it was, well... buffet.

BOMA was awesome. The food was great and unlike anything I have had taste wise. I really recommend it. Tell DS to suck it up and try something different or you will feed him to the lions ;) We really enjoyed it.

We have Teppan Edo-type places all over town here, so I'd also rather go to Boma. There's stuff there for picky eaters too.

We just did both last weekend, and hands down - Teppan Edo! Buffets are a dime a dozen, and although Boma has some unique items it's still just a buffet. You stand in line to get food and wonder if you'll be back to the table while the first things you got are still warm. The food is good, but I'd much rather be served (and entertained by the food prep right before my eyes) and the food was really good at Teppan Edo.

Boma. Also, the AKL is such a beautiful resort, you should plan to take some time to look around if you end up going there. I think a boy your son's age would really like it.:)

Thanks everyone for your help. I am beginning to feel overwhelmed with all of this planning and just want everything to be perfect. I am a single mother and this trip is a dream come true. We will be celebrating both my DD and DS's birthdays while at Disney. Reading everyone's posts has been so very helpful for me. Thank you again!!:dance3:

oooh ooh Boma!! From all the reviews on here that I have seen it has to be Boma hands down!

I have the same issue with Teppan Edo...there are so many of the Hibachi grills around me and they are the same exact menu. Blah.

Be sure to pick up "First Trip" and "Birthday" buttons.

Have a magical trip!

I have enjoyed the food at both of these restaurants. As you have a DS11 and both he and your DD are celebrating their birthdays I would choose TappanEdo. It is very entertaining and a lot of fun to do and the food is nothing to dislike if they like steak or chicken. It is great having the food cooked in front of you but then where I live we do not have any similar restaurant at all so it is very different for us.
We are also there again in November and have an ADR returning to TappanEdo.
Make sure you tell them that you are celebrating birthdays when making the reservation wherever you choose to go.
Have a great time on your first trip.
