I've had my mind set on Boma since I started planning this trip. BUT...it might not be for everyone. And, it would be nice to have ONE meal at our resort (BC). So, I'm seriously considering canceling Boma in favor of Yachtsman.

If you're a HUGE Boma fan, what would you do? Please give me some guidance. If we DON'T do at least one signature, then we won't eat all of our credits on the DxDDP. That's fine, but if the food is *that much* better at Yachtsman, then I'd rather go there.

In our party: Me, DH, DD15, DDs BFF15, DS6, MIL, FIL

Thoughts?

I like Boma a lot....but I wouldn't say I'm a HUGE fan...and I wouldn't waste a dinner credit to go there. We enjoyed the Yachtsman when we last went (but it also didn't blow us away.) What about Jiko? It always gets amazing reviews and is a signature...with the same flavors as Boma. At Boma, you'll get LOTS of good food...at Jiko you'll get GREAT food, just not lots of it.

Well, I am not in favor of leaving credits on the table, but I am in favor of Boma.

Yes, Yachtsman is a fine steakhouse.

At home, are you more likely to be able to go to a fine steakhouse or to a buffet that serves an array of African-based foods as well as some more accessible items for the rest of the group, including basic kids' selections?

Can any other dinner be swapped for a Signature or a 2-credit event like the Luau or HDDR? Are you maximizing your TS meals including arrival day and departure day? You say you've had your mind set on Boma: I say go for it. I'm sure you've figured other meals to please other members of your party; include this one for you!

Boma is great i love it, if thats what you want to do than do it :) but if you really don't want to lose the credits than i would go to jiko its very yummy

I would choose a signature over Boma, though I would probably pick Jiko or Flying Fish if I were in your shoes.

We always stay at BC because we like the resort and location, not for the restaurants in the resort. We do look forward to going out and about, and traveling around for dinner is something we enjoy. We certainly always include Boma (what wonderful food!) and make it part of an evening that may include AK, or another park or resort that we'll bus to.

Hard for me to put it into words, but the best way I can sum it up is that we'd rather stay at BC and eat at AKL than stay at AKL and eat at BC. Just our taste, and you can't go wrong either way.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

i would choose jiko over boma any day- and over yachtsman easily. Boma is eh- i love that the menu is a bit different than the standard Disney fare, but hate the whole buffet aspect of it.

We loved Boma when we went last May, so we decided to go again this past February and it wasn't as good as I remember (in fact we won't eat there again for a long time- even though we are staying at AKV next trip)....honestly, I would go with Yachtsman since its supposed to be great- and its in your resort! If you want something a bit different, try Jiko!

I like the food better at Boma, over Yachtsman. My problem with Boma is that it's noisy/hectic. However, I do enjoy being able to try many selections of food I can't get at home. We can grill steaks in our back yard that are better than what I've had at Yachtsman in my 5 meals there. It's not bad; it's just not special.

I agree with PP's, Jiko and Flying Fish are better choices.

We didnt care for Boma dinner at all...a signature is a winner, especially Citricos, Flying Fish or the Yachstman

I like Yachtsman Steakhouse, but if I had to pick between the two, I'd pick Boma, I just don't have anything like it at home. And even if I did, I might still pick Boma over Yachtsman because I really love Boma, but with the deluxe dining plan, it'd be hard to choose.

Thanks for the help, y'all! I think we'll keep Boma. We have a couple of really nice restaurants here that serve great steaks, so it's not like we can't get that at home. And, I really want the kids to "experience" a lot of different things. Boma is one of those things we don't have near home, so I really want them to experience it.

We'll keep Boma. Thanks for all of the great input!
