HELP! Best route AKL to FW?

Thanks in advance from a newbie! We are going on our first trip to WDW and need some advice from you experts! Have a few questions....

1) We are going to be going to Fort Wilderness Pioneer Hall for Hoop-de-Doo. Can you tell me the best way to get there from AKL? We are traveling with a 5yr old & 1 yr old and using WDW trans. (but open to cab if need be).

2) Same question as above except to Polynesian for luau?

3) Regarding those 2 above....is it just better to get there using direct bus from AK park? Should we just take an afternoon break on those days and go straight from the park to the resort (but we still have to get back).

4) At the AKL, where are the bus stops? I am trying to envision how the whole bus thing works and I cannot imagine what it is like. Are there several bus loading areas at AKL for the different parks or are there just large crowds trying to squeeze into one small area?

Best bet would be to use the MK as your transfer point. Take the bus to the MK, and then the boat to FW and the Monorail to the Poly. Buses run back to AKL at least 60 minutes after the MK closes.

The bus loading is at one Place at AKL but there are different buses for each area. Like bus station one would be for Epcot,bus station 2 for MK , etc. Just an example. The signs are posted at the bus loading area as what station(stop) goes where. As far as getting to FW the above instructions hold true depending on what time of year you are going. Summer parks are open late and fall true spring parks close early. My suggestion would be to take bus to TTC and then get bus to FW. Plan on at least 90 min to get to FW. If you transfer via a Park then allow 60 min.

Even if you take a cab you will still need to take a bus from Outpost bus stop.

There are no busses from AKL to TTC.

1,2. Tyler hwas shown the best way if MK is still open. From AKL, you need to get to a park to then get to either FW or Poly.

3.If you are the AK, you can catch a bus to the Poly or FW if you get the early shows

Getting back is the same thing. Go to a park (MK preferable if open). If there are no parks open, you need to go to DTD to transfer to a AKL bus.

4. The bus stops are to the left as you walk out AKL. Actually it is one long curb with three or four stations. Depending on what the stop is for, each station may have two destinations.

Don't take the bus to FW from AKL .....we did it once it was a nightmare. We had to switch...wait...yuck! Yes take the bus to MK and then the boat over...it is the easiest way!
