Help! Atlantis Question

Wow, looks like you got a really great rate. Originally, we were going to skip Atlantis due to the cost, but I still think we'd run into problems because we're a family of five...DS 12, DD 9, DD5. I know the kids would love to go, but I guess we'd have to stay at Atlantis instead of the Comfort Suites, which is more expensive. Do they really give you a problem for the 5th armband for the slides? Since we have 5, we need to book 2 rooms? What time can you check in? Do you just check in and check out since you're there just for the day? We're on the October 5th cruise also. See you there:)

OOPS! I forgot to ask...any idea what the LGOLD rate means? Do you have to have some sort of ID at check in? That would be the only thing I'd worry about with that. I guess I'm just thinking if you're AAA, you need proof. Same with a military or corporate rate. Thanks for all of your input. These boards have been so helpful with planning this trip.

SeaSpray...From friends who have recently been there....you could take a taxi from the pier for about $4 per person...or the ferry for $3 per person. I've been told the ferry is faster...but they wait till there's a full boat before they leave...so you could be sitting for a while if you are first on.
As for the 5th person, Lauran, I would call choice hotels directly and speak with them. (1-877-424-6423). As we are 4...I forgot to ask...but there are others who are asking....so post if you find out.
The LGOLD rate, according to CHOICE, is simply a Discount that you have to know about to get. No qualifing....just ask for it!

I have always heard it recommended to take a taxi... You can actually see Atlantis from the ship... It is a very short drive... The ferry seems to be a so called 'scenic tour' through the harbor, then docks near Atlantis.... This involves a bit of a walk from the dock up to the Atlantis.

As far as a family of 5.... Same situation as accomodations on DCL!!! It is not cheap or family friendly. Laura, do you and your DH both swim? It might be possible for you and the kids to wear the armbands??? Also, there have been a few reports of friendly employees at the Atlantis letting extra armbands slip by. the 'official' policy does seem be "four" persons per room at Comfort.

Laurarn:
I have 2 rooms at the comfort suites on 10/6, we have 4 kidlets for a total of 6, and even though I thought long and hard about getting that extra room, I just didn't want any hassle when we got over to Atlantis. So anyhow, my 2 rooms should entitle us to 8 armbands, I'm using 6, if you want an extra you are more than welcome to have it-just email me and let me know and I'll see if I can add a person to the reservation or we can just go over together first thing on the 6th and I'll ask for another. Let me know what you think?

We are going on the Wonder 4 night on 8/24/03. I wanted to know if anyone did the Atlantis Beach Day Excursion through DCL? Does it include admission to the sea aquarium? I know it does not include the water park but I was hoping it would include admission into the aquarium? I also wanted to know how the lunch was that was included. It is an expensive excursion for myself, DH and DD it is $165.00 but it also includes rt transportation. I was advised we could cab it over and enter the sea aquarium ourselves. I would appreciate the insight and advise. Should we rent a room for the day for a few bucks more or do this excursion????? Thanks Gail 1771:earsboy: :Pinkbounc
