Hi... Ok I'm starting to lose it and I need advice!

I currently have a room only ressie at POP for 10/1-10/8 that is 85% paid for. Friends have decided to join us on our trip but haven't book it yet (she wants me to help her). These friends like sit down restaurants and when this husband and my DH get together they like to try to drink ALL the beer the place has to offer (at least that's what it seems like to me anyway).

I called Disney yesterday once I found out about the free dining package but was told Pop had no rooms available for the package, but that there were still package rooms available at All Star Music and Sports.

My dilemma is... We've never stayed at POP before and were looking forward to it, the "better rooms", the 2 lounges, the dedicated bus service, the cool food, etc.
We've also never stayed at ASMu or ASsp before, but have heard horror stories about the worn out rooms and the too crowded bus service.

I'm worried we won't have the spending money to keep up with this other couple (but could be just me being paranoid) so one part of me is leaning towards changing to the package. Yet I'm afraid I'll regret my choice of changing to a potentially bad hotel for the sake of a few free meals.

It's just DH & I - early 30's - no kids. The friends are the same aga - also no kids.

I"m torn!! What should we do?!

It may be better to stay at two different hotels, and meet up at certain times during the day. This way you have "friends time" and " alone time".

Personally I would stay at the POP and let the friends stay at the All Stars and just set a meeting time somewhere.

We just came back from the POP and really enjoyed our stay. If you like looking at the past and reminicing you will like it.

Last month we met some friends and family and it just so happened that we were in different resorts and met up at the parks etc. It is the 1st time we have done that and it was great. Sometimes it is nice to have "your own space". Anyways that just my opinion.

Whatever you decide have a great time.

I've stayed at both AsSp and ASMo, and I had a great time at both places.
We're staying at Pop this time to try something new.

I think its silly (unless you have a great deal on the room) to pass up the free dining. Its a huge savings and its seems like you will take advantage of it. You will be able to take advantage of so much. The AllStars are great

Really its what you make of it.
If you go in there not expecting to like it you won't. If you go in there w/ a possitive attitude you will have a great time. You will be in WDW after all!

If you stay at Pop w/o dining, and your friends get it. You will probably feel even worse if you have to keep passing up on meals b/c you can't afford it.

Ok well I just discussed this with another friend and I think I've decided to shuffle some money around to ease the panic about spending money. And I think that the hotel I REALLY wanna stay at is POP so I shouldn't settle for something else. I looked at all the photos for all 3 hotels and I really think POP is the way I want to go. And as much as I'd love to stay at a different hotel from the friends for the "alone time", it just won't happen (unless POP is booked to capacity by the time they book their hotel haha). I think the closest I'm going to come to "alone time" will be me and the other wife getting ditched to do our own thing. haha

Thanks for all your input guys!! I really appreciate it!

I think you should book the dining package and book you all together. IT will be so much easier to meet at the same hotel and travel to the parks together instead of waiting around on each other.
