We are going to WDW 11/27-12/3. It will be myself, DH, DD9, DS6(ASD) and DD5 at POR using DME so no car. Well, in doing research I've discovered Pop Warner will be coming in that weekend at the end of our trip and POR is one of their resorts :sad2: . I'm not worried about the parks but extra crowded busses, food court and pool with loud possibly chanting teens could be a recipie for disaster with DS6 :scared1: . I've begun looking into possible alternatives but with a family of 5 choices are limited to deluxe. They are pricing out at $300+ per night - yikes not in budget! So here are my questions:

Should we stay where we are at POR and hope for the best?
Anyone tried Swan/Dolphin (we can get 2nts for $411 with AAA)?

DH thinks I'm stressing over nothing and we should just "wing it" but I'm not so sure. He is not opposed to moving though if I want to.

Pop Warner is youth football and they have a big tournament at WDW each year.
It's hard to say how much it will impact your stay. I guess it depends on how many people actually stay at that particular resort, where they are staying in the resort and how their schedule compares with yours. You may end up at the food court at times they are not there.

If you haven't already, you may want to look around on the Resort Board for opinions and/or post there.

will the value resorts family suites be up and running by then? but they'll probably be crowded, too....

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES,STAY AT THE SAME RESORT THAT POP WARNER GROUPS ARE !!

We were at WDW during the 1st week of Dec. last year--we stayed at SSR(we are DVC members) and my sister's family stayed at ASMu. She had horrific waits for buses and NOISE, NOISE, NOISE all night long at her resort :sad2:

More groups stay at the value resorts, so don't switch to All Stars! Try switching to POFQ...for some reason POR is more popular with groups, probably because it is larger?! I have an autistic DS and we stayed at POFQ and loved it. It has quiet, lovely grounds, is compact in its layout, and , BUSES PICK UP AND DROP OFF AT POFQ FIRST WHEN SHARING ROUTE WITH POR!

Good Luck!

Only half of the teams start playing on the 3rd. so the 2nd might be the only day of increased crowds. And staying at POR you will be fine. Some of the noise and bus issues are at the All Stars. POR is an upgrade resort for familes of POP kids. If any kids are going down without family then they have to stay at one of the ALl Stars.
