I need help, help, help. I just recently purchased a narrow hemming foot for my machine. The instructions that came with the foot make no sense whatsoever. Has anyone used this foot? Can you give me any tips?

Thanks!

I have one of these and love to use it. It does take a little bit of practice to get the hang of it though. I'll try to explain how mine works. Your's should be similar in the basic sense.

I'm presuming that when you're looking at it from the front (as if it were attached to the machine) it has a portion that looks curved sort of like a seashell? The basic idea is to "thread" the fabric edge you want to hem into that part of the foot. As it proceeds through it will turn it twice. This way the raw edge is contained within the hem.

I've found with mine I need to sort of hand guide the fabric into the curved area with the presser foot up until the corner starts to come through the back side. Then I put the presser foot down and begin to sew.

Try practicing with a fairly sturdy but not particularly heavy fabric a few times.

Hope that helps,
Deb
