OK, so we just got back yesterday - we had an utterly amazing time which I will report back on later. Unfortunately we had a bit of a disaster coming back - first we managed to forget a sutcase, and my husband had to geta taxi back for it! So, me, my dad and kid tried to get onto the lower departure floor of CDG - it turns out that lift 24 is the only one you can use to get there - by the time we worked that out we were very flustered! So, we got to the lift, where there was a HUGE scrum - one guy was standing in front of one lift, letting on what we thought at the time was his family - but in hindsight, he never got on himself. Next, the other lift arrives, a woman gets out and rams our trolley and starts screaming at us. Meanwhile my little guy got into the lift, and the doors closed (too quickly - I think someone hit the button) and off he went! I freaked and went off looking for him - he was gone! I left my dad with the bags. Security found my little guy pretty quickly- peace was restored. Then we unpacked when we got home, and guess what? Our videocamera, my husbands sunglasses, and some souvenirs - GONE! So, I reckon we were rumbled at the lift. :(

Anyway, we are now desperately trying to report the theft for insurance purposes. The Irish police say, correctly I suppose, that its not their jurisdiction, but have noted it in the book. CDG airport police keep cutting us off. The embassy and the Insurance company are closed till tomorrow - and the small print of our insurance says claims are not accepted unless we have written supporting evidence that we have reported the theft! Doe anyone have any advice?

Apart from this our holiday was perfect - it just went wrong when we left Disney!

What a horrible thing to happen - such a unpleasant end to the trip. :sad2: I'm so sorry I haven't got any advice to help you in this situation. :grouphug:
