First time with FP+. We're staying off property and my 30 day window just opened. I was able to book my FPs for April 19th no problem. But then when I try to book FPs for the other days, the remainder of the dates that week are grayed out / not selectable. I thought once the window opened you could book FP's for the entire length of the trip. Am I doing something wrong?

They must be made one-at-a-time, day-by-day.

(You get to be up late over the next few nights!) ;)

Only if you are staying at a WDW resort can you make them for the first day, AND for up to the next 9 following days (if all at a WDW Resort,) all at once (at the 60-day mark.)

On-site guests can book length of stay (60 days from check in). Off site guests are limited to 30 days in advance.

Wow... didn't realize that. Thanks for the quick reply. A pretty ridiculous policy, IMO. I'm already not liking FP+ !

I knew about the 30-day window for off property. I didn't realize that "offsiters" you couldn't book FPs 10 days out from arrival day.

its giving the advantage to disneys on property guests. at least you can still book 30 days in advance. at universal their resort guests get unlimited front of the line access for most major rides (just not harry potter) and they dont have FP+ for everyone to use (well you can PURCHASE a one time front of the line access for each ride)

Disney does not know when you are arriving or how long you are staying. If they gave everyone 30+10, they might as well just give FP at 40 days!

One would think that if I have a 6 day park pass, the Disney system would be able to determine how long we're staying based on the first day that I booked my FPs. And based on that, allow me to book FPs for the remining 5 days on my park pass as they do with the guests stayng on property. Then again, had I read FP policies more closely I would not have gone into my 30 day window expecting to book all my FPs for the week. Whatever. I'm over it at this point. I got the FPs I wanted (for that day anyway) and that's what matters I guess. But I still think it's kind of a crappy policy. Just my opinion.

I can understand your frustration, and I'm sure others that are staying off-site feel the same way, but in all reality, it's a perk for those staying at an on-site resort.

So...for in park guests, you can book all your fast passes at 60 days?

I'm offsite as well for May but your comment wouldn't apply to me. We're staying for a week but spreading our 4 park days out during that time. I get that it's a frustration but being as though I chose not to stay at a Disney resort, I get that there are some perks that I'm not afforded. All in all, I'll get what FPes I can and work around the rest.

If you're staying off-site Disney has NO idea when your trip begins or ends or how long it is.

A) They know how long your ticket is

B) This applies to AP holders too .... should they be subject to the same restrictions ?

C) Two of the stated Aims of FP+ are to "Lock guests in" meaning by booking FPs you are more likely to spend more time IN WDW property, this seems almost MORE important to achieve with off-site guests so if they want "lock" anyone in, they should be allowing off-siters to book FPs as far in advance as possible. Secondly they say this system is going to allow them to save money by gearing staffing more accurately to the number of people in the parks, at attractions, etc. Again, it would seem like they might want more than 30 days notice to be scheduling their staffing levels.

Yes, they know how long your ticket is for but they do not know if that person intends to use the ticket for consecutive days

AP holders that are not staying onsite are limited to 7 days worth of FP at a time (not sure if it is book all at once or a 30 days in advance one day at a time gig - we always stay onsite). When AP holders are staying onsite - you can book up to the length of your stay (max we've stayed with APs and FP + is 10 days - I have read after that you have to book as you use them but I have no experience with that)

Exactly. If you are staying at WDW they will know you are there for 14 days but only purchased 3 days of tickets. Where as if you are off property all they know is you bought 6 days of tickets. You could use all those tickets in 3 days if you went to two parks each day. They don't know how long you will be in the area.

True. But I see nothing that would prevent them from enabling an offsite passholder the option to book their FPs 10 days (or however many the on siters get) from the first day that they book an FP for.
