Hi all! It's my first time planning a Disney family vacation:dancer:
Hoping your expertise can help! We are scheduled for an 8am breakfast at Epcot's Akershus and I'm at a loss to figure out what time we should plan to be there. I understand they will let us in early to get there ( hope I can figure out how to do that!!) but it's been so long since I've been to Disney I don't know how long it'll take to walk to Norway, or how bad the parking situation will be at that time of day. Anyone have any experience with the before-park breakfasts? How did you plan your time for it?
Thanks a million! :thanks:

This might be a better question to ask in the restaurants forum, but as someone whose done this breakfast, I can give my insight. We arrived before 7:30, which was a bit early. However we were the first people through security. I'd say, plan to be there between 7:30 and 7:45. Maybe try closer to 7:30. They won't let you in the park until 7:45 or 7:50. It takes about 5 minutes, maybe a little more, to walk over.

Another tip is ask for the check right after ordering. That way you can eat, meet Princesses, then leave. This works especially well if the goal is to get in line for the Frozen ride. Also, factor in potty time if you have littles ones because the restroom is right on the way out and easy to hit if timed for.

That's perfect, exactly the info I was hoping for! Thanks so much for answering!

That great to know! I was hoping to get her in to meet Elsa and Anna, I'm a little worried the Frozen ride might scare her with how dark it is. She's two, nearly three, and hasn't been on very many rides except for one very rickety kids coaster that she was terrified during. Whoops. #momoftheyear

The Frozen ride isn't scary at all, except for a main drop at the end. If she's a Frozen fan, she will love it. Let her watch a YouTube video of the ride before hand. When the Elsa in her hall effect works, it's pretty. Also the animatronics, when they work right, are pretty cool. And they usually work first thing in the morning. It's less dark than Pirates of the Caribbean, if that helps guaging.
Not sure if you are driving or are using Disney transport, but I have found for some darn reason, busses to Epcot first thing in the morning are funkey. There should be one for early ADRs, but there isn't always, or it's running late. It can be a bit frustrating. I've had it happen at both WL and AKL. I'd recommend possibly Ubering, or if you want to splurge, get a Minnie Van.

Such great info, thanks for passing on! We found the Frozen ride on youtube and then looked at a bunch of other rides, too. She really enjoyed that, hopefully they will prep her for the rides! When her grandmother came in she told her "I just watched some rides and they were so crazy!" so at least she's enthusiastic, lol. And thanks for speaking about the bus situation, I was wondering but trying not to worry too much about it (ha! like that ever works), but I know I'd be a wreck if the bus ran late and we had an ADR to catch.

The bus transportation is usually okay. It has it's hiccups, and park close can be kind of a beast. And maybe your experience with the Epcot early morning bus would be fine, but I've had two experiences now where it was a bit off.
