Hey everyone,
I need help deciding which one to stay at.....like the way both resorts look, have been looking at pics on the allearsnet.com website, but I don't know which way to go.....This will be my 3 yo son's first trip to WDW and my DH and I want this to be so special for him, I know either one would be great, but I have never stayed at either one and am anxious to hear which one would be the best....we are going 3rd week in September, so I am thinking the crowds won't be as bad as summer crowds, but that is not a big deal, but would just like some opinions on which way to go....thanks everyone.

depends upon you

do you want a restuarant on site - the POR

a food court would be just fine then POFQ.

they are sister resorts so they share their stuff.

besides I think your child would LOVE and mean LOVE the swimming pool at POFQ....

show him the pictures....

you didn't really want to go to the parks....right. :cheer2: pixiedust: pixiedust:

We just got back from Port Orleans Riverside...our eldest DD is 3, we went by the pool but didn't use it this time. We didn't care for the Bayou section but the mansion and POFQ maybe different. Are you set on staying at a mod?

I am planning on booking at POFQ. DS5 seen the pool and was completely sold. Good luck in making your decision!

We are going to be staying at the POR in April (right during Easter), we have never stayed at any of the disney hotels we always brought our camper & stayed at the fort wilderness (& it was GREAT there).

I too am wondering if anyone has any tips of "unwritten" things to see & do at this resort. like at FW there are the golf carts that are a must have, & the numerouse peacocks that rome around, & the campfires each night.

Also is there a place where I can find how to get from POR to other resorts or parks the fastes, I am a planner & have planned a big character breakfast for almost each morning & cant find how to get around.

TIA
Kim
Oh we had to get 2 rooms because our family has 4 children & 2 adults, thats the only downfall of disney is any family of 6 or more is pretty muched forced to get a delux room or 2 moderate\or less room for there stay. They really arent offering any type of less expensive alternative for larger families bummer.

POFQ!!!

Smaller, quieter, still kid friendly with cool pool, more convienent bus and boat service, everything is close. We would get on our bus and go to POR ti pick up their guests and we'd never make it past the 1st or 2nd stop and the bus was full so a lot of people were stuck waiting for the next bus. You are also first to be dropped off at POFQ.

We love POFQ!!! Will be taking my family there this summer!

look for the roses - they are in quite a few unexpected places here.
the butterfly garden
there are fountains in several places - go find them
bunnies and birds are all other the place here - I kept telling WDW that is needs a few cats (like Spicey) to kept these things down....
carriage ride (but you can do this at FW, too)
fishin' hole
the arcade....

the buses are the best way to get around. for more information go post on the transportation board.

but I believe the buses that have a character breakfast start at 6:30am - remember these go to the parks - so you want a character breakfast at the BC - then ride the bus to Studios (not Epcot) then take the boat (if it is running) or walk to the BC.

for the Cont, Polyn or GF - just take the bus to the MK then the monrail or walk (Cont).

How large is the pool at POFQ, I know there is only one pool, is it really crowded? Thanks Kathy

We stayed at POR in Spring and just loved it. We didn't have the full bus problems, but POFQ was also closed at that time for rehab. Maybe we'll notice a difference this summer when both are open. The pool at POR is fabulous and pretty large. Our kids loved all the gadgets around the pool for spraying and dumping on themselves and the slide. I think whichever choice you'll make, you'd be happy!!

Yes - but you can use the pools at POR too.

It is not generally crowded - it is designed for little ones. so teens easily get bored here and can walk over to the faster slide at POR.

so it depends upon how many littles one are there when you are....

if a lot - yes the pool will be busy...

if more teens or young adults - then no if probably won't be...
