Hi everyone,

ive been lurking on the boards for a while and have enjoyed reading all the posts , hints and tips that everyone shares.

wonder thou if someone can give me some help and advise about our wedding celebrations.

We are getting married off site at Cypress Grove but would love to visit a disney resort for our wedding celebration.

The grand floridian looks wonderful and hopefully we would be able to get some lovely extra wedding shots around the resort. Do you think that we will be able to just wander around and take photos thinking of the beach, lobby, gorunds (not wedding pavilion) we wont be staying at resort but hopefully will be booking a honeymoon night stay at POR. Will disney allow this i know about all the hurdles that disney puts up against intimate rather than custom brides but i wont be either :confused3

There will be 10 in our party and we will get to site around 1.30/2pm looking at the dining options we have two

either having a grand tea at the garden lounge...sounds very elegant but we will have some excitable youngsters in our group.

or the grand floridian cafe also sounds a lovely restaurant but a bit concerned that everyone will be eating burgers at our wedding luncheon but there again the kids are picky eaters and at least they will eat something.

My fav option is to hire the grand 1 (just for a sail around not fireworks cruise) and get private dining to supply some refreshments, h2b thou is unsure of this because of the cost plus we could only afford to hire for 1 hour. do you think this would be long enought?

please give me some advise im at a total loss about whats possiable and acceptable at the resorts as this will be our first ever disney trip and really need some info about the grand floridian.

thanks so much

sue

I know Disney frowns upon guests that aren't getting married to wear their wedding attire around the resort - but I'm not sure if it's something you'll get in trouble for or not. I know the coordinatores try hard to make sure brides dont' "see each other" on their wedding day, so you might want to be careful. I guess you could try and see what happens. They might tell you that you're not allowed to be there in your wedding dress, but at least you will have tried.

Thanks Mary

not exactly what i was hoping to hear :confused3 does anyone else have and advise or info about the situation

thanks

Hi Sue...

I think your best bet would be to call either the Grand Floridian or Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding Department to find out for sure...

The number for the GF is: (407) 824-2421

The number for DFTW is: (321) 939-4610

This way, you would get an answer straight from the horses mouth! ;)
