Hi,

We are booked at POP 9/21-9/27 for free dining with the bounceback promo..We have 2 Adults, one 3 yr old and a child who will be one at time of travel. Anyway, my mom lives a few hours away and offered to come and babysit for a few days if we wanted. So, I know she can stay in our room for free and she will need a one day ticket, but does she need any additional days of tickets?? And would she get free dining for one day or length of stay?

Just trying to decide how this would work or if she may want to get her own room to avoid days of tickets she doesn't plan to use:confused3

I have never had 5 people in a booking for me. But as far as I know your mother, if she can be added, would not be free. She would be an extra adult, and there would be an extra nightly charge for her. ($25 at deluxe, $15 at a moderate, $10 at a value.)
Everyone in your party needs to have the same type of ticket. So if everyone has a one day ticket, then a one day ticket would be fine for her too. However, if you have multiple days, then I believe she does too.
And I do not know how the rules are now that you have 5 in a room, if the 1 year old counts as a head or not. (I think not. But not 100% sure.)
Best just to call Disney and ask your questions.

Since your baby is under 2 y/o he would not count against the maximum room capacity of 4 in a room. However, you would have to pay $10.00/day for your mom to stay in the room as a third adult. Everyone in the room must be on the same pkg for the entire length of stay. What you can do, is buy one day MYW base ticket for everyone, then upgrade your's, your husband's, and the three y/o's tickets to whatever you need once you check in. Just go to guest services and they will upgrade everyone's tickets to whatever you need. Everyone in the room would have free dining for your entire stay (even if your mom was not there the whole time).

The only thing is during the first year of free dining, guests were making up invisible guests for their rooms, so they could get more dining credits. Disney had to close that loop hole, so the following year Disney supposedly required that everyone be there for check in. I know we've gone every year for free dining and the second year I tried to check us in, while my husband was getting the bags off the DME bus and my mom was getting her ECV from bell services. They wouldn't let me finish checking in, until I got my mom and husband there. Now last year the CM checking us in did not ask to see everyone, so I don't know if your mom would have to be there for check in or not this year.

what if part of the group flies in later? We went last year and only one of us from each group checked everyone in. Anyone else have problems?

Thank you so much for this detailed reply...this is exactly what I was looking for:cheer2:

I did not realize about the check-in either, but it would be great to have her there to help with the kids and all, and I am really glad to hear she does not need several days of tickets when she would rather stay and push the baby around the resort and play in the pool etc...she is not a "rides or crowds" person:rotfl2:

Hopefully it will work out!!
thanks again

Can anyone clarify that for me? If I book Free Dining now for one adult and add another adult later, both will receive FD? What if I add them after June when the FD promotion is over? Does it not matter since the second adult would be in my room? Any info would be appreciated!!

Last month we tried to add my inlaws on to our bounceback free dining ressie for a couple of days...and the Cm on the phone said it was not possible...because the bounceback FD code from last Sept. had expired. ?????:confused3 And since they will be arriving on 9-22-08...they are not eligible for the current FD promo......go figure, just our luck.
