Help a newbie?

HI everyone!

I have been lurking a little...but still need help.

Never been on a cruise. Starting to consider one. We've never been to an island either.

Where do I start? How many ships to choose from?

It would be myself, DH and 2 kids(12, 7)

A Disney cruise sounds wonderful, though I have no idea where you'd go out of. (We'd drive to FL)

What do you cruise veterans suggest for us?

Any advice and info is greatly appreciated

The Disney ships leave from Port Canaveral Florida, near Kennedy Space Center. I would do a 7 day cruise with the kids. They are the perfect age for these cruises. You have come to the right place for info!!

You should really maybe start by visiting Disney's official website for their cruises to get all of the initial details about the two ships (Magic and Wonder) and the itineraries. Have you looked there yet?

You are right that this board is an amazing resource, but you can research some of the basic stuff at the Disney site to start off with.

Dodie - this is exactly what I needed to get started, thank you. I wasn't sure of the name of the ships, etc...so I needed to be pointed in the right direction.

I'm going to go over the info there like a sponge. I'll be back I'm sure LOL!
