Help! A couple questions about first time on-site

Hello, we are planning a trip Dec. 16-22, 2006. I understand that if it starts during Value season then the whole trip is considered value. I've also decided that CSR is the best resort for us. I am confused though because the rack rates for CSR's value season is $139 +Tax but when i put in our days on the Disney site, it gives me a standard room price of aruond $175 w/ tax. I dont think tax is $40 so why is it going up? Also, I have a disney visa and AAA. Would I be able to get a discount off of the rack rate? Please help me.

Also, I am interested in the meal plan but have a couple small questions about it. Could I get it for just 1 of the 3 people going and if so, can the 3 of us use the 1 persons meals at the same time? For example, if i got it for 1 person for all 6 days I'd have 6 sit down meals. Could the 3 of us use those for 2 sit down meals together?

The price you quote of about 175 sounds like the price for a Water view room, not a standard view room. The water view rooms are 155 before tax.
if you are a AAA member, you should call and ask if there are any rooms available for your time with a AAA discount. You can call Disney to ask this, don't have to call AAA.
As for the dining plan, to get it, everyone in the room must get it, can't just have one or two people on it, and not the others. And to get it you need a package which also includes at least a one day park ticket for everyone. To get a package like this with a AAA discount, then you would need to contact AAA, disney can't give this to you at all.
