HELP!! 3 weeks to go and I am a big huge ride CHICKEN!!

Oh btw, there are 3 other adults in our party, so it's not like DD won't get to go on the rides she wants, I just want to be able to experience them with her, (and not have a nervous breakdown while waiting in the line;) ).

I felt the same way as you and the first year I did not go on most of the rides. Afterward I was so disappointed that I couldn't share in the memories of the screams, etc. with my family. So the next year I took a motion sickness pill everyday and I think it calmed me. I went on everything once and survived!!! Good luck.

I am in the same boat with all of you; I'm not alone! :goodvibes

I will say that I also, as many of you, HATE big drops. I do like Test Track for that reason. I also like Everest. That ride is confusing when you're standing outside, looking at the people swishing down the opening at the bottom of the mountain. I thought, Dear God there's no way! But my family went on it first and there's not a big drop, so I was OK with that one.

When we went in September, my family begged and teased me all week about the Tower of Terror. I didn't want to do it, hate drops, etc but they wouldn't shut up so I rode it. I thought I was going to be sick, I did not like that at all. In the picture, everyone else on the ride has their arms up and smiling. I'm in the last row, holding on to the bar in front of me for dear life. But now, I can say I've done it and I never have to do it again!

I am not a ride person, always scared they will make me sick. However, my then 6 yr. old wanted to ride Tower of Terror (she will ride anything) and I agreed to go too. I am glad I did it but no thank you again.

The second and third time she went was with Daddy and Nana. :lmao:

Strange...I don't ever feel SICK...I wish that was it so I could "take a pill".

It is shear terror for me. I also think the unknown is the worst part. I was much better on test track the 2nd and 3rd time I rode it because well...I knew what was coming.

The dips are what kill me. That is why I hate to fly....take off and landing sends me over the edge. The last time we flew our flight was at 7am and I had already had 2 shots of vodka to get on the plane.

I am a total ride scared person! But I adore Soarin! I could do it all day. But I did it first at DLR and had no idea how far off the ground I was :rotfl2:

ok i am really bad the very first time i did soarin i was screaming like a baby
when the ride was over some man looked at me like i need help :rotfl2:

Add me to the list of scaredy cats! Never have liked roller coaster type rides or drops (or heights!). It's not SO much the motion that gets me ( though , it sometimes does). I'm just a sissy. For example , the other day I woke up and it should have been sunny out but instead was very windy. When I looked out the back door the sky was SCARY :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Well,I have high blood pressure and within minutes my heart was racing:scared: My kids always try to get me on "those" kinds of rides and I finally wind up telling them it's MY trip too! I hate to disappoint them as they really enjoy them and want me to do the same (with them). I'm going down in Sept. without them and won't have to worry about disappointing them.

I was tricked on to Space Mountain when I was a little girl and I have
never ridden a roller coaster again in my life. I can't stand rides that
shake, or even give the perception of fast movement, like Star Tours. I just
hate it. But I did do Splash Mountain a couple of times. There are two
times in the ride that you experience a dip--the first one is not that bad,
the second one is the big one at the end. It was not the most pleasant
experience in my life but I could handle it again. It's just a couple of
seconds of the whole ride. So I say try Splash Mountain --you can make
it through those couple of seconds of the drop. (but if the anxiety leading
up to it is horrible, maybe it's not really worth it)

I am just obsessing about EE. I really want to ride it but, I am terrified. Don't know if I will have the nerve to do it when I get there or not.

For me the scariest ride in WDW was Soarin. I was afraid I was going to fall practically the entire time. It was MUCH scarier for me than EE, RNR, TOT, the Mountains, TT, MS, etc

:surfweb: Boy, did I pick the right thread to read!
I have a fear of heights and quick turns...you know
the kind of quick turns that by the time you almost
recover there's another! I won't do Tower of Terror...
I know it'll make me sick...Rock N Roller Coaster...maybe
this time but don't count on it...at the same time I found
the following to be a blast...Mission Space,Test Track,
California Soar'in...to me "trust" is key in a ride...like a
good sturdy harness to strap me in...unlike Space
Mountain...That day my DD talked me into it...went on
said ride...road it...and since I sat in the last car, last seat
with nothing really to grip onto...Yikes! I needed a
chiropractor after that one! I felt every bump...
I didn't go for a ride...I got beat up...never again!:scared1:

Hello to my SOULMATE!!

Just got back from our first trip and like you I am afraid of everything.

I really hate things with DIPS....So...I promised them I would do ONE ride.
I did TEST TRACK...Yes it was very fast but NO DROPS. I about passed out in the waiting area. My heart was beating 1000 beats a minute. I sat in between my, I am not afraid of anything boys and they tell me that they have sort of regained use of their hands.

Now I could of never done the other rides. However they were happy I did a few rides. Good luck and let me know how it turns out. My husband joke that I was the most expensive photographer in the parks...giggle

OH YEAH Pirates of the Caribbean has a drop the Popped up on me. Yes I screamed.
Unless you are really scared of rides...You'll never understand.

Oh my-it's like looking in a mirror-lol. I am the same way-but this trip I made a vow to myself-either I ride or drop of heart failure waiting online-that's the only way I am letting myself off the hook! I used to LOVE rides when I was younger-I haven't always been like this. The only things I have NEVER like were dropping things-like ToT and Freefall. We are going in Sept-I will post how it went-providing I don't have a heart attack-lol:scared1:

:lmao: I love this picture, its priceless. I have no fear when it comes to rides, but you couldn't give me a millian dollars to ride a waterslide those things just freak me out for some reason.
