My husband and I are doing Disney at the end of June. We do not care about character dinners, etc. We just want good food that is not too expensive....ideas??

Thanks!!

One suggestion would be Yacht Club Galley, in the Yacht Club. What area are you staying in?

Well I am thinking Mama Melrose or Kona. I thought about O'Hana and Cape May but it seems like it might be geared more towards families.

I am a bit older than you (already have a 3 as the first number in my age) but I think I have an idea what you are looking for.

I can definitely recommend Kona, it is a very relaxed place, very friendly and welcoming and I thought the food was great!

I know that buffets are a bit more expensive, but I think Boma is a great place to try out and to visit AKL is a bit of an adventure in itself.

When I was in WDW with a friend we ate at Ohana and liked it, it is okay for couples, you do not need to be a family there to feel comfortable, but perhaps it is not the most romantic place to eat at. In the same category I would also suggest Whispering Canyon Cafe which we enjoyed a lot. It is a lot of fun to watch what is going on around you.

We also really liked Wolfgang Puck's Cafe in DTD. I know it gets rather mixed reviews, but we liked it a lot.

Not a tableservice restaurant, but Sunshine Seasons has very good food, too. We found it to be very busy for lunch. We had an early lunch and it started to get very crowded when we left. But we liked it so much that we returned for dinner there and that was much less busy.

Hope this helps a bit!

Hey,

My DH and I love going to Disney with just the two of us, and we are in our 20's. The following are the restaurants we make sure to hit on every trip: Ohana's, Boma and Jiko at AKL.

In Epcot, we enjoy the Italian restaurant, but I think it might be closing soon. We just went to Bistro de Paris for the first time and while it was more expensive, it was definitely worth it for a "special meal." Spoodles on the Boardwalk is also good. And I know you said you don't like character meals, but the Crystal Palace is my favorite. The food is actually excellent, IMO. And you don't have to play along with the characters, but you might find you enjoy it!

We did NOT like Kona or Mama Melrose.

Well, we are mid-30s but also have no interest in character meals.

Are you a Disney vet or a newbie?
Have you checked out menus on www.allearsnet.com
I strongly recommend checking out the menus and seeing what you will pay vs. what the DDP will cost you (if you are staying onsite.)

We do the DDP and do CS for lunch and TS for dinner and come out way ahead.

We love:
Kona
LeCellier
Raglan Road
