Just wanted to introduce myself to this discussion forum. I love any photos or stories from the pre-1999 Disneyland Hotel. In time, I hope to post some great pictures here. I have over 5000 in my personal photo library of all years at the Hotel. I also completed a book on the history of the Disneyland Hotel. I look forward to corresponding with other members of this forum.

Nice to have you with us! I just love seeing the history and progress us things...I pron=mise to visit your web page and give it a good going over (once I've finished my homework:rolleyes1 )

Hi and you have a great website! I found it the other day while looking at the Yesterland site!

Thanks for the compliment. I am going to be adding many more pictures and things to the website shortly. I got hold of some great old pictures and can't wait to get them posted. Some great aerial shots from July of 1955 showing the whole Anaheim area.

Welcome to the boards!

I have many fond memories from pre-1999 DLH. A few of the things I miss:

-Being able to request a view without paying extra; I almost always got my request, because most people didn't know they could request views
-Watching the ice-skaters at Christmas (I'd go for a Marina view room at Christmas time)
-Watching and riding in the paddle boats.
-Being able to park fairly close to the room, next to the 2 story bungalo style rooms.
-Monorail cafe (Yes, I definitely remember it. I loved it! Reasonably priced, great place to go with my DS, and very friendly service)
- It's not that I liked the old Goofy's Kitchen more, but I have special memories from it that I'll always cherish.
-Taking the monorail over from DL to have a drink since this was the only close place to have an alcoholic drink

I'll have to dig through my old photos someday. I'm sure I have some nice shots of the grounds and views from different rooms we stayed in.
