Hello. I am new to this board. I am glad to find people who go Walt Disney World solo. I thought I was crazy to do so.
I plan on going to Disneyworld sometime in early Jan. and here the kicker: Not only am I going solo, I am going for the very first time!
I am so excited. My hubby can't go and I have ALWAYS wanted to go and finding this thread has made me feel much better about my decision to want to go.
I am planning on staying at Pop Century and for 6 nights.
any and all advice for a first timer would be very helpful.

THanks :)

 Hi Kaliet, the best advise I could give you is don't be shy, talk to CastMembers (personally I think they give you more time and attention when they you know you are solo) and other guests, bring a camera and ask someone behind you to take your pics with the characters, volunteer to be their groups photographer too, I travel solo alot....have to admit the 1st time I did so I got into a melancholy, felt sorry for myself frame of mind and thought I had made a mistake...then I realized alone doesn't mean lonely :thumbsup2 since then I treasure my solo trips, eat at Character meals, and never have to wait for dh who is in the bathroom yet again :rotfl2: :rotfl2: and no one is there to complain when I ride Journey into the Imagination ride more than twice have a great time....have fun planning, that's 1/2 the fun

Welcome, Kaliet! Feel free to pm me with all questions you might have -- I'm a Pop enthusiast, as I'll be heading back in October -- my sixth stay! I always travel solo, so can give you some very helpful hints!

I'd like to suggest you get an offical guide..found at Books A Million and other books stores as well as the Disney On LIne Store. It have great infor on all the parks and lots of tips and helpful advise. It's well worth the expense and can be used for future trips as well. I kept mine through four trips before I gave it to an "unexperienced" couple and bought myself a new one! !!!! Feel free to message me as well! I'm about to do my 6th trip but my first solo trip and can't wait to go!! DJ princess:

you can find a ton of information on the home site of dis. here is a link
www.wdwinfo.com

now if you want something specific - then it can get harder.

January (unless you are talking about MLK week) can be a great time to go.

unless crowds and the weather is not to hot - can be cold.....

have a great time - ask...

I have stayed at Pop - 5 times and I have been to all the other resorts - stayed in most of them. now I own DVC and I love it!!!

on if the link doesn't work - across the top of the page is something called 'Dis home' - click on this (same thing)

hi Kaliet,, going solo is an experence all by itself, i made my first solo trip in May and i'm gonna go solo again for Christmas, i stay at the Pop its a fun place to explore, the first time i went solo it felt a little strange but after you get going you'll feel at home and you'll be amazed at what all you can see and do by yourself, you get to make all the decisions.i used to think that all the people i'd see there by thereself were split up from thier family/friends but after finding this board and reading some of the post, there are ALOT of people that go solo.only advice i have is go have fun and enjoy yourself and don't think about that your there alone.
