Emma:

You know, I've not been on this site since May! We were all excited, planning our holiday to WDW, then when we came back we didn't come on here again! I'd forgotten how good this site is!

Anyway, we returned from DLP today. Although it's by far the closest of the 4 Disneys to us, we'd never been there!
I have to admit that it was far far better than we expected! I'm not really sure what we expected to not be as good as WDW and Disneyland but we were very plesantly surprised.
It has to be said that the weather is certainly something against DLP but we were lucky in that despite it being cold (but then what do you expect for October?!), the rain only came before we reached the park and after we'd left.
My favourite ride was definitely Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. I loved it at MGM and it was just as good in DLP. But whereas WDW only has that 1 upside-down roller coaster, DLP has 3 and I went on them all (I was très proud of myself!
). Space Mountain was good; better than the one in WDW, actually as I found that one kind of boring considering how much I'd hyped myself up for it. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril: Backwards was a really great idea but the sensation of going over a loop backwards made me feel as if I was coming out of the seat. Also I found it kind of hard to walk when I came off!
BTMRR was a big disappointment, I have to say. In WDW it's the favourite ride of our whole family but in DLP it just seemed to be too slow. Every time it began to build up speed it would stop to go up another hill. The only good part of it was trying to figure out how it got from the loading station onto the island when there's no visible bridge. It's pretty obvious really but there we go!
Since it was Halloween, the usual Disney Princess Parade was replaced with the Disney Villains Parade. The parade itself was OK if nothing spectacular but the music was brilliant! We trekked around shop after shop looking for the CD of it but they all seemed to be sold out. We'd almost given up hope when we went into one and there, on the side of the counter, was a whole stand full of them!
Pirates of the Caribbean was better in DLP; there were more drops which livened up the ride. Although I do think I missed a few bits because the speech was in French! I was very glad that the theme tune was still in English; imagine the outrage if 'Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for me' had been changed into whatever the French equilvalent is!
On our last morning, we decided to hurry from our hotel (we were staying at the Newport Bay Club) to Disneyland to try and get on Peter Pan before the queue built up. It's not an especial favourite of ours - I think we've only been on it once in WDW - but the FastPass tickets for it were usually all gone by midday and the queue time reached up to 100 minutes a few times. So we decided we had to go on it, just to see what the fuss was about. I have to say, we were disappointed. Yes, it's a lovely idea; flying through the air! But the ride isn't even 2 minutes long and certainly not worth an 100 minute wait!
I really didn't mean to type all this much, it just sort of came out! Sorry about the random order, I typed as I thought!
Thank you for reading all this!
