Hi

I just wanted to say a big hello to you all as I am a new member to this board and just joined the DVC 2 weeks ago.

We were staying at Pop and decided to go over to take a look at Saratoga and joined.

After we had the tour of the rooms and my hubby said we could go ahead and purchase I burst into tears, I just could not help myself.

I even made the lovely lady who was showing us around cry, us valley girls are just big softies really.

Anyway I hope I am able to all the help we need via this board, and maybe one day meet up with fellow DCV at disney.
xxxx

Welcome Home - I'm sure you won't regret making the purchase. Although we choose not to go more than every few years, it's been lovely to be able to let friends and relatives use our points. And DVC is always there when we want it.

I am also from Wales - Swansea though now live in Wiltshire.

Hi Gilld

Thanks for your reply

We too will only use it every other year as we don't want to overload on disney.
We are from Neath so not far from your home town.

Take care
Amanda

congratulations Amanda, we bought last year and went home for the first time there in July, magical, place was just beautiful and peaceful, I still find it all a bit surreal

I'm a newby to the Boards as well (after lurking for ages), but feel like a seasoned DVC-er after a couple of trips home to SSR.

BUT: :cool1: Be warned, we all set off with good intentions of only going home every couple of years -- no doubt you too, as soon as your first trip to that wonderful villa comes to an end, will find yourself scanning the disboards for any hint of a cheap flight back there.

Next comes the muttering about how can anyone resist a WDW holiday when the exchange rate is so good for us brits. Then, before you know it you are getting add-on-itis and working out how to get just a few extra points....

Saratoga Springs (and all of the other DVC resorts) are lovely, relaxing and welcoming. You won't regret your decision to buy in at all.

Thanks for all your replies :thumbsup2

We have been looking for flights but found none so far that suit us.
Can anyone tell me who is the cheapest to book flights with and how far or close to your holiday do you book.

Thanks
amanda

That is sooooo true. We started back in 1999 with 250 points - enough for a 2week break in a studio. We said that we would go every 2 years, however we have been 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and we are booked on the DCL med cruise. We have also added on SSR, and im very tempted to addon AKL (dont know what DH will say !)

We stayed @ SSR this year for the first time and loved the resort. It was a really good place to chill out - and the spa was fab! I had the best pedicure there.

We stayed in a room that was @ ground level over looking the water - alovely room with one down side- the demon ducks!

Whenever I sat out on a morning to eat my breakfast the ducks would come !!!

Still I wish I was there now !

:wave:Hi ~ We bought this year at BCVs :thumbsup2 Going for the first trip 'home' in March :goodvibes

Yes, it sure is addictive. We've gone every year since we've bought, I've even managed a couple of extra solo trips in between. And I've just added on so we can go every year and stay in a 1 br!!

This is a bit of a challenge -- the only answer is to be flexible. If you're planning to go outside of school holidays then your chances of late availability cheap flights are better.

Register with Virgin's website to get alerts on their seat sales from Gatwick and Manchester -- also look out for their special time-limited sales that occur for example on Christmas Day or July 4th.

I've also found good deals on Airline-Network's website too, but with these, the deals seem to be better 11 months out than they are 3 or 4 months out...

Decide whether you want to use Orlando International and make use of Disney's Magic Express transport to and from SSR, or whether you don't mind flying into Sanford if there is a good deal on one of the Charter airlines....

If really good flight deals come up, you can be sure someone will post on this board!

Good luck
