Hello, one and all! Newbie with a question.

I have so enjoyed reading the Disneyland board and now I come with a question for you all.

I was wondering if the rumor I heard was true, that Disneyland had lowered its height requirement for Indianna Jones, Space Mountain etc?

My dd is 6 yrs old and 43.6 " and she is SO hoping to get in IJ this summer when we go. I teach Pre-school and one of my kids just got back from DLR and said that he went on IJ. He is about dd's height. His mom confirmed and then told me they had lowered the requirements and that the only ride he didn't get to go on was Screamin'.

So, what says you? Fact or Crap ?

Indy requirement has been 46" the last 5 years and probably forever before that as well. It was a big deal in our family when younger DS could make the height. Disney's own website still lists 46" as the height restriction.

Screamin' is 48". That was a big deal too. The only things requiring taller than 48" are Maliboomer, I think, and driving a car alone at Autopia, unless I'm forgetting something.

I had not heard this. As far as I know, the requirement is 46" for both, you can hope that she grows, but I had not heard this new height requirement.

One thing that confuses conversations like this is that WDW and DL have different height requirements for the rides. Obviously not an issue with Indy (I agree w/ PP- that hasn't changed.) Space Mountain is 44" at WDW but 40" at Disneyland. Maybe that's why your friend thought they lowered it?

Yep, Indy is definitely 46".

I can believe that one of your pre-schoolers got on, though. The thing about DL is that the CMs seem so hit-or-miss about height requirements. Some are absolute sticklers, and I can well recall one DISer's comment about the CM that pushed her child's head down. And then some seem very lackadaisical. I saw one child get onto Indy that must have been a good 3-4" short of the requirement. The thing is, do you really want to have your child wait through the line, only to risk rejection at the end?

According to the official DL website, Space Mountain is 40" (not sure what it has been in the past as I'm 67 inches so never thought about it lol), but Indy is still 46".

Since I work in Park Operations, I just had to chime in on this. Space Mountain at Disneyland and Disney World are not identical and each uses a different type of restraint system and design.

I have not heard that. When my son was not officially tall enough he did get on the rides as his shoes had a thicker soul on them.. (DC) There are options for you if you have a child who can not ride the rides.
