Welcome from central Nassau County!!!
As to some of the things you can do: let's start by hoping that, if you're going this summer, you've taken advantage of the summer offer and saved some money! We did really well with it!!!
OK, back to the real point. -sign up on the Fairy Godmailer thread
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2440121 Someone going to WDW before you agrees to send your daughter a post card anticipating your arrival-- some will do one from her favorite character. In return, you promise to pay it forward and do the same for someone else during your trip. Those postcards are a huge hit!!!
If the Easter Bunny will be visiting your house, you might want to remind him to bring an autograph book and a retractable sharpie. (We got ours at the laughingplacestore.com
http://www.laughingplace.com/store/Category-RC-791.asp ) A Disney gift card will aslo be a hit, as it will give your daughter her own spending money. Oh, and if you're going in the summer heat, hit
amazon or walmart.com and pick up a Mistymate personal 2.5 mister. For the $10 or so you pay, she (and you) will be a lot more comfortable in the heat.
Have you booked (or considered booking) any dining reservations? Some your daughter may enjoy:
- dinner at 1900 Park Fare (in the Grand Floridian, easy to reach from the Magic Kingdom via monorail.) Cinderella, the prince, the stepsisters and stepmother are all in attendance. They go table to table for pictures and autographs, and the stepsisters and stepmother are a total hoot!!
-any meal (we did a late breakfast-- 10:30 or so) at Aukerhaus in Norway at Epcot . FIVE different princesses (they rotate, so no telling who you'll get) go table to table for autographs and pictures.
- Chef Mickeys (in the Contemporary, easy walk or monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom.) It's loud and raucous and a ton of fun. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto and Goofy all go table to table.
If your daughter has an old princess costume from Halloween, she can throw it over her shorts for the princess meals, and she'll be greeted as "Princess" or "Your majesty." About a third of the girls there will be in costume, so she'll be comfortable either way.
- If you really want to go for the gusto, you can book the Bibbidi Bobbidy Boutique for a princess makeover. We've never done that-- it's expensive!! Instead, I've bought hair giltter and makeup and done the girls up in our resort room. They loved it!
- Take a look at the tomorrowland terrace dessert party. You get a SEAT for fireworks, with the Castle in the background.. and there's an amazing array of desserts.
- I'm pretty sure you can get a pin proclaiming "It's my birthday". Not sure where, but someone here will know.
-consider getting the memory maker package. For us, it's simply part of the cost of the trip.
Gotta run and get ready for work. Happy planning, welcome, and feel free to ask any questions!!
