Hi All! I've just registered to the site but I've been reading your posts for a few months now. My family just returned from a quick trip to WDW in June (we spent one day at two parks - not near enough time but enough to get the Disney 'bug'!) and had a great time. Now, my DD and I will be in California at the end of July for a conference and I'm planning a 2-day park hopper for DL and CA.

I'm wondering how long the lines usually are at Soarin' at CA? We rode this at Epcot and were amazed! Loved it! I am really looking forward to riding this again. We will see how it goes with Nemo. Maybe we'll get lucky and the lines will only be 2 hours long!! :)

Thanks for all your great tips, advice and stories.

Jacque

Hi Jacque! Welcome to the boards!

:welcome:

The line for Soarin' is usually long here, too. HOWEVER, if you get over to California Adventure 40 minutes or so before it's scheduled to open and get in line, they generally let people in 30 minutes early just to ride Soarin'.

The other option is to get a Fastpass as soon as the park opens and then you'll be able to ride it later.

I hope you and your daughter enjoy Disneyland!!!

Hi Jacque - Welcome!:dance3:

I would suggest a Fastpass for Soarin' as the lines are usually about 45 minutes. As for Nemo, I would hightail it over there right at park opening and hope for less than an hour wait. It's not worth more than an hour wait - but a very cute ride.

Have a great trip;)

well, it varies to be honest... two weeks ago(4th of july week) was just dead at DCA... :\

Thanks for the updates. I'm very curious about CA because it was not there when I was last at DL, which was about 10 years ago. If it was there, we totally missed it :-)

How old is your DD? My teen-aged DS much prefers DCA over DL, while my DD(9 last time we went) gives a slight edge to DL--but she likes DCA, too.

Since DCA was a part of the resort on my first trip to Anaheim, I can't imagine not going to DCA as well as DL--the whole package together spells D-i-s-n-e-y-l-a-n-d to me!!:cloud9:

My DD is 9 years and is getting out of the 'Princess Awe' stage. I think it's her attempt at showing she's no longer a little girl! :-) I try to remind her that she used to watch nothing else but Disney princess movies not that long ago. She still loves Disney stuff but she's more into the older kid/preteen stuff now. I think she'll like it all and neither of us really like roller coasters or really 'scary' rides. She went on the Rocknroller coaster in Florida and she looked shell shocked coming off of that ride. Poor girl!

Well it was the parking lot for the majority of my trips, but I still love it and am happy they built it.

Get a fast pass for Soarin.... about 15 minutes to get on the ride with the pass.

Don't they have a fast pass for Nemo?

Hi, Jacque, and welcome! Do you happen to be going to the Cisco conference (we'll be there the last week in July for that one)? And my daughter, who is 10, has also decided she is too old for princesses and doesn't want to do a character meal :(. I'm kind of disappointed.

Which Park is Nemo in?
How far apart are DL & CA? Is it easy to get back & forth between
the parks?
Nemo is in Disneyland in Tomorrowland.

It's VERY easy to go back and forth between the parks. They're right across a plaza area from each other. (just a one-minute walk) CA was built in what used to be the DL parking lot if that helps give you an idea of the proximity.

Hi limace, actually we will be going to the 8th International CHARGE Syndrome Conference, which is the syndrome my son was born with. It's a very wonderful, amazing conference and there will probably be lots of families with children and young adults with the syndrome having fun at DL that week! My DH and DS are staying home this trip because DS doesn't do well with the crowds and hotels. DD is going to some sibling workshops and I'm going to learn all I can, see my friends from across the world and check out Disney!! :cool1:

SOunds like a fabulous combination of support and play time for you and DD :) Have a blast!
