I don't dance. I have issues with walking some days. When I do go out with my friends I watch the purses. I want to dance but I am terrified that I will look like I am have some kind of attack and someone will call 911. I want to dance (let someone else watch the purses) but I don't know how. Can someone teach me? How do you learn to dance?

I don't dance either, to avoid it I decided to do an intimate wedding at Disney where there is no reception.

My DF is really good and has tried to teach me himself and with videos. It's no use, I have no rythm....good luck to you

I think thats refered to as a "full body dry heave set to music". :rotfl2:

Our local junior college has classes for different types of dance. You have to have a dance partner though.

My best girlfriend that I went to bars with all the time could not dance. She did the same thing no matter what type of music she danced to. She didn't care, she had a great time. And you know what else? She got all the guys...I got stuck with the "friends"! LOL!

no help here sorry but, let me tell you i can do a mean "elaine" and a pretty good fake river dance after a night of drinking (though i have been told the river dance is just a tricky elaine).
dh on the other hand does that very well known, "white boy of the eightes side to side foot shuffle dance" that is the official title, i am sure many of you have witnessed this one, some might even been married to one who does this well. though i must add dh can after a night of drinking be known to do a mean electric slide.

As long as it doesn't look like this:

HEY!!! how did you get the pic of me from our christmas party?!!? :cool1: :rotfl2: i am so sorry to admit that yes, that is how i dance, but unlike elaine i know i dance that way!!! :woohoo:

I've no idea. I was never one for dancing either, until I started going to country bars. With all of those "choreographed" dances (2-step, 10-step, "cowboy cha", plus dozens of line dances), it was simply about learning the steps. After a while, I got to be really good, and even became a popular dance partner, because I could improvise so well during these "choreographed" dances. Yet still, I wasn't comfortable with "freestyle" dancing, due to that whole "white boy of the eightes side to side foot shuffle dance" issue. :rotfl2:

As for you, if you want to dance, then go for it! Just go out there with your girlfriends and dance in a group. From what I remember (i'm old and anti-social now), this happens all the time in clubs. Heck, most of the time, when I saw ladies dancing in a group, none of them were doing much more than standing on the dance floor talking and laughing and having fun anyway.

Besides, if you don't dance, a pretty lady like you would be at risk of having someone like me trying to hit on you while you "watched the purses". :cool1:

You owe me a new keyboard AND monitor. *snorting loudly and looking around nervously to see if she was talking about me with that description* :rotfl2:

Oh. And I don't dance either....unless you count that "dry heave set to music" as a dance move, then, yes, I dance. :p

.

You are not alone. I don't dance either. I would rather swallow razor blades.

I got married on a cruise, no formal reception. NO DANCING! Nothing sounds worse to me then having to dance ALL NIGHT at my wedding.

I don't and never did dance. Put me on a barstool and I'm much more comfortable! :)
During the Disco era (I'm showing my age) I never went to the clubs.
That's how the big group we were in 9th grade started to break up by senior year.
You don't need to know how to dance. At big parties and weddings also go to the corner or the back. ;) And move away from those pesty video camera guys :teeth:
