Yep, my birthday is Friday! And yes, I've seen the summer patterns. Our store actually had them in around Christmas as a preview. I love the purple one, Simply Violet. It is really simple, a purple background with paisleys on it. A girl I work with has it and it is adorable!

I like the purple one too. :thumbsup2 I bet that pattern will look pretty in the duffel.

I hope you have a happy day tomorrow! :cake: Do you have big birthday plans?

All caught up again...I missed a lot! Congrats on the new camera; the Gatlinburg trip sounded like a lot of fun (love the frozen fountain!); glad you enjoyed the concert...did I forget anything?

LOVE the pics of the characters posing with the travel size stuff! :rotfl2:

Glad you're caught up! We had fun on the Gatlinburg trip and thinking about that frozen fountain makes me cold. We've had sunshine and 60s this week. Bring on some spring! :woohoo:

:wave2: Hi ! Glad you found my PTR. :welcome:

Believe me that this many trips so close together is not normal for us.....I wish it were! ;) We were there last May and decided to upgrade to APs so we could take our DD in December for her 16th birthday. So we went back then near New Years. This trip is March is an extra----My daughters' band is playing at Disney, so my sister and I are tagging along. Our family will go back in May to get one last visit out of our APs.

So you think we've stood in line together? :confused3 You never know...... I would just guess that I just look very average, which makes me look like someone else you may know!

Wow, two trips. I am so jealous!
I just found your link and we'll be there at the same time. Right now we are booked at CSR, but really considering switching to POR.

Still have another 20 pages to catch up on.

Glad you've come over to visit my PTR! :welcome: There are some links on the first page if you want to skip the chit-chat and just get the information right now. Then you can join and chat with us!

I’m not well today folks. I haven’t been to the doctor, because there’s nothing he could do for me. :sad2: You see, I have a severe case of…........

Disney Change-your-resort”it is”!!!!

What can I do? For our May trip, we booked the Contemporary. I have to be honest and just tell you that I just can’t get excited about staying there as much as I try. Lately, I’ve been thinking about the Beach Club A LOT!

So today, I made a list of advantages/disadvantages for each resort.

***Contemporary***

Advantages---1. monorail to EPCOT 2. walking distance to MK 3. Large guest rooms 4. The bathrooms have a separate “water closet” (***very important if you know my DH and his routines! ;) )

Disadvantages---1. Lack of theming---seems stark and plain 2. Lack of good quick service 3. Lack of dresser/storage space in room

***Beach Club***

Advantages---1. Walk to EPCOT 2. Boat to DHS 3. SAB pool ! (This right here is enough, isn’t it?) 4. One building/all under one roof 5. Themed

Disadvantages---1. Smaller guest rooms 2. Lack of counter service

Of course, I didn’t even throw in the Poly. We’ve stayed there a couple of times, and we love it, but we really enjoyed the Yacht Club in December. I chose Beach Club as the other choice, because we’ve not been there, and we know we enjoyed its sister resort-YC.

So, now I turn to you , my DIS sisters (and brothers, if there are any lurking)----Tell me what you would do! :confused3

I've stayed at Beach Club and LOVED it, but I would choose Contemporary. CR has way more to offer CS wise than BC. Plus, I think it would be cool to be so close to MK!

Good Lord Have Mercy! The "Itis" is runnin' rampant around the Disboards isn't it. The Contemporary just doesn't appeal to us at all. I'm not a streamline/contemporary kind of gal so, if it were me, I'd toss that one out of the equation (but that's just me). Now the Beach Club is a total different story. I'd love to stay there one day as it looks fabulous and, like you said, Stormalong Bay is a BIG plus. Surely, you aren't going to throw the Polynesian into the mix too?

Contemporary: Monorail lets you off at the front in the morning at EPCOT.
BC: It is a long walk to the front in the morning and rides at EPCOT.

Contemporary: Monorail or walk to MK.
BC: Share a bus with other resorts to MK.

Contemporary: separate water closet little counter space
BC: no separate water closet but sinks outside the room with more counter space.

Contemporary: monorail to all the restaurants and shops at the Poly and GF
BC: shops and restaurants at Boardwalk.

My husband and I are staying at Bay Lake Tower(thanks to 40% general code) this time and I am excited to try something new. We are not pool people so that was not part of the equation. We are breakfast people so no counter top for a quick breakfast was a big disadvantage when we stay at BC, but I did like being close to EPCOT at night. So I guess we choice breakfast over the pool. This time at night we will be close to the restaurant at the MK resorts and just a monorail away from EPCOT at night. Plus another reason we chose this area is we has reservations at Cinderella's castle and Chief Mickey's for breakfast, and we will within steps instead of a bus ride. The other mornings, the Contemporary has the counter service for a quick breakfast, then we are off.

Good luck with your decision, I hope I did not add to your confusion.

Ahh that is a tough decision! I am kind of the same way about the Contemporary. Yeah, it's a nice location but we love the resorts with more theming. I'd probably pick the Beach Club for all of the reasons you mentioned.

Beach Club all the way baby!!!:rotfl: We loved our stay there. The walk to Epcot was a dream. There is a counter service-Beaches and Cream (good burgers! and well, ice cream....;)) Plus we ate a couple of quick bites at the Beach Club Marketplace quick service and it was good too. SAB?? That speaks all for itself!:thumbsup2

To be fair, I don't think you could go wrong with either place. I just don't have a strong feeling about Contemporary...

I personally don't find the Contemporary appealling with the exception of location.

Beach Club is beautiful, has SAB and IMO in an equally nice location.

I think you can figure out my choice...hands down (although I have never stayed at either so no first hand input)

Ya'll are drivin' me to drinken' more Diet Coke....:lmao:. I am fighting the urge to change resorts and now I see someone else thinking of changing and what's up with that?

Anyway, I would go with BC. I REALLY want to stay there. I have looked at that resort as a change for our stay, but I want to try CBR so I am sticking with it............lol. I would change it now if I were you, I don't think we will get better AP prices so I would choose the resort I wanted to try the most and go for it.

Resortitis can strike the best of us. ;) I have to say that the lure of staying on the monorail is a huge draw. Have you ever stayed at the Contemporary before? We stayed there way back in 1987 (yes, I was only 12 at the time ), but I have to say it was one of my favorite trips of my childhood. However, Beach Club is so pretty in the pictures and that pool :lovestruc! It would be the perfect summer resort.

I am no help, am I? :goodvibes

Dana, you could switch to another one and then switch back to CBR just to say you switched...:lmao: CBR is great! We would have stayed there but we wanted to stay somewhere new.

Michelle, that would be a tough decision for us. We want to stay at both places. I have no advice to give because I would have no idea what to do. Sorry I can't help you! Can't wait to hear what you decide!

I have not stayed at either, so I have no words of wisdom. I do love, love, love the Boardwalk area, though! But, on the other hand - the location of the Contemporary just can't be beat.......

I'm no help either

I am in agreement with everyone else apparently. Between CR and BC, I would pick BC. Although, I really dislike the bus situation there for MK and AK.

BEACH CLUB
BEACH CLUB
BEACH CLUB

Come join me!! There are advantages to both but you have mentioned on numerous reports how much you enjoyed the YC. We will be behind ya whatever you choose.

I haven't stayed at either resort, but I want to stay at both!
If I were to pick though, I'd pick the Contemporary because of the walk to MK AND the Monorail! :)
Good luck choosing!!:goodvibes
