Hello Kitty character at Universal. Opinions?

Kenny the Pirate said that Hello Kitty is now doing meet and greets at Universal Orlando.
Had a look at the picture of the character and I think it looks weird. It actually looks like someone in a suit.
I know that sounds mad but when i look at say, Mickey or Minnie they look like Mickey and Minnie.
Hello Kitty looks weird. Maybe cause she hasnt got a mouth.

It's the arms, the arms are too long. and the body. Not much they can do about that.

I have friends who would still go crazy because they get to meet Hello Kitty. And they aren't children.

The Hello Kitty that greets at the Sanrio store at the mall here looks better than that. I think it's the arms and the legs on the one at Universal that freaks me out. the one that greets at the Sanrio store is a full fursuit which looks a lot less creepy. The outfit isn't doing the character any favors either. It would be cuter if it was a full fursuit with hello kitty's iconic overalls with a shirt underneath.

Cannot stand Hello Kitty. Tinker Bell either. It's an ex-wife thing. Have properly trained 11 year old female (with current wife and only girl) to have the same disdain.

Me too! I'm looking forward to going to the store with my daughter and picking out some cute things (and we will totally get our pic taken). We love hello kitty. When DD got her ears pierced she picked hello kitty studs.

It's apparently the same suit they use at Sannio HQ in Japan, it came straight from them.

The head looks the same as the ones they use in Sanrio Puroland, but the arms look thinner. The costumes at Puroland seem to have fatter, padded arms.

Still, the opportunity to meet Kitty-chan may be the thing that finally lures me to Universal!

I have to agree. I saw the picture and thought she was rather cute. I am just hoping I won't be the only 40-something in line to meet her .
