Now I’m going to spend the next 3 1/2 weeks trying to get a Beaches and Cream ADR we weren’t going to do an ADR for our first night since we were at Pop and not getting to MCO until 4:45, but now that we switched to BCV we have so much time! I didn’t even think about the dining that would be available because we’ll have more time due to being closer.

Good luck! You can try setting up a dining alert too! I would have done the same at POP but yeah now that you're at BC having a dinner reservation is a good idea since not lots is open unfortunately. I mean there's Trattoria if you like the menu or even Il Mulino in the Swan which we LOVE, but then other than B&C really the only other option is Ale & Compass now that they're open. You could just grab something light at Martha's Vineyard but the menu is small. I was hoping Crew's Cup would open with Yacht but so far no luck!

I can't say I blame you for leaving ROTR. We probably would have too. We've watched all the SW movies, and we just aren't big fans.

I have tried watching the first one a few times and can't even get through it

I will say, in regards to earlier comments, we are VERY excited for next year's vacation

his year we ended up tacking on a quick getaway trip to one of hubby's work trips, which was nice because he technically got paid while we were away, and his company footed the bill

That's awesome I think anyone who could get away at all this summer/fall should do it for sure.

Thank you So far I'm hanging in there and he's doing well too! Once classes go in person after Labor Day and things start up like the gym opening and intramurals starting I think he'll do even better.

Thanks! I did that yesterday when i couldn't get one, I've always had pretty good luck with it so fingers crossed it works for this trip. I'm also constantly checking the site to see if one opens up. I'll have to look into Il Mulino

Ah well, I ended up feeling TONS better today after Ricky called me, talked to me for about a half hour and said he's doing fine and things are getting better each day 🌤 I'm sure it'll change day by day but at least today I didn't feel that big whole in my heart!

I hope between the storm (be safe!) and the virus this years' seniors have a better ending to their year than Ricky did Will your daughter be in person in school to start?

It was so sad how all the seniors ended their years this year. My DD is all virtual for now. Some students have in person classes but none of hers are for now.

It is SO good; we're going there next month for Steve's bday dinner. They don't take the dining plan so when that's a thing people don't like to try it which makes now a good time to go! From all reports they are doing well with physical distancing too and have most of their menu available.

Honestly I am so happy for hers and Joe's friendship! It still amazes me sometimes that such a good friendship began on a message forum and that's not even the only one. I have become great friends with other DIS'ers over the years, so much so that a huge group of us traveled together last May! In Sept. another wonderful DIS friend and her DH will be joining Jenny and I and in Nov. we hope to see even ANOTHER good DIS friend! In fact I've hung out with DIS friends outside of Disney too lol!

Good morning! I am all ready to finish out our Day 3 evening but @eliseisawkward has given me a bit of an idea. Thanks @eliseisawkward, I definitely need assistance in that area in my old age!

THE ONE WHERE SHE MADE F*R*I*E*N*D*S

Many of you are following both my TR and my very very good friend Jenny @Jenny Sanders TR as well and therefore know that we are indeed, very very good friends. And that our DH's like to matchy-match their shirts:​

Some of you have also followed my older TR's and dining reports, although, you know, those weren't quite....."Cruella" but if you didn't you may NOT know that both Jenny and I have made quite a few other really good DIS friends the last few years such as Kari @kastoney and Kelly @buzzrelly ❤ shown with us on the WL boat dock in May 2019 on our EPIC GIRLS TRIP (plus some guys)! Being that these boards have been the catalyst for the start of some beautiful friendships I thought I'd take a moment to discuss. Ahem..........

It is SO WEIRD to meet someone in person after "talking" to them here! If you've had any DISMEETS or I guess, done onine dating? you know what I mean. You know you have Disney in common and you think, based on some posts and back and forth here, that you'd get along in the real world with someone.

So when you realize you'll be not only in Disney at the same time but in the same park at the same time, you exchange personal info and plan to meet up. Then the time comes; you go towards said meeting place and look around. You recognize said DIS person at Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks in Asia in AK and go for it!

Hello @kastoney and family! Nice to meet you in August of 2016 but sadly I can't find that picture! But we liked each other enough to meet up for lunch in Maryland 10 months later while I was there since Kari lives not far away:





Which led to spending time together 5 months later at F&W! Still, little do you know that less than 3 years later you'll feel comfortable enough to do this in the middle of MK:​

And this on a soaking wet afternoon in HS while you're stranded in One Man's Dream:​

Note: while nobody was harmed during the filming of what are many,many still-lifes similar to this and we made it out happy and healthy, we did manage to unceremoniously pi^^ off a few guests who were obviously experiencing OMD for the first time.



As you start getting more comfortable with DISMeets it becomes a bit more normal to take a quick few moments late in the evening at Epcot Nov. 2018 in bad lighting to finally meet another DIS friend, the lovely @pepperandchips :​

But you're still surprised and humbled that by May of the following year your HUSBANDS would be rainy night Hurricane Hannah's BFFS! ​

And even more telling as to the kind of DIS friendships that develop is that a mere 3 months later your special DIS lady friend flies down to Disney to spend a few days with you again:​

Prompting guests of the GF to wonder "Is that their daughter?" Or "Did he bring wives #2 and #5 to Disney this week?"

Then of course we have Jenny @Jenny Sanders and Joe. We first met at the old Mizner's Lounge on a trip when they had the adorable Gia with them but like the Kari/Cruella AK Iconic Jungle Book show meet up pic I cannot locate those shots. It was sometime in late 2017? Our next meet was not too long after on the shores of Geyser Point in March 2018:​

They were even able to meet our boys then. And later that night when we returned to our room after a fantabulous dinner at the old signature Artist Point (RIP good Artist Point) this was delivered to our room:​

It was really the start of a beautiful friendship, one that lead us to our last vacation together in July 2020. To a point where, having only spent time together at Disney but also spent hours on the phone and texting, talking about our kids, families, and lots of other things, we are the kind of friends who get ALL dressed up, go to dinner at a fancy restaurant atop the well known Contemporary Resort, are seated in a booth against the wall facing out for the general public to see us in all our glory, and do this together:​

It's a friendship full of Jenny's nostrils and my double chins and I wouldn't change it for the world

Thank you for letting me go off here a bit! I have so many fun and wacky pictures I could share but it would never end lol. I also need to mention that while lucky that our work and family schedules enable us to meet up with these friends often there are so many other wonderful folks from the DIS I call friends and have been fortunate enough to meet in Disney over the years! All my Canadian peeps: Susan @suse66 , @fallonkendra and another one of our early DISMeets @MeghanEmily and her DH "N"- a fun time in MK and although they are young enough to be our kids we hit it off and spent a comfy few hours with them there! And our non Canadian friends Sue @Wood Nymph and her DH whom we've had the pleasure of meeting a couple times

Again I could go on and on and bore you to death; if your friends and family make fun of you for sharing so much here and laugh when you say you feel you "know" people just from the boards you aren't alone and I completely support you laughing right back at them! Also your DISFriends post was so cute and heartwarming! I love it. I grew up at the Dawn of the Internet and made so many good friends online, who I chatted with for years before any of us were old enough to actually meet up (and defend ourselves if any of us were creeps which thankfully none of us were), including my BFF of 17 years. It's a blessing to find great friends no matter how that came to be.
