"Hello? I'm in the Carousel of Progress.."*UD1/13pg74"All Good Things...*

So - I am supposed to be cleaning and packing for our upcoming trip - instead I have spent my whole morning - reading your TR - sounds like you guys had a wonderful trip - can't wait to read more!! I really must get some work done around the house before I go to work!!

Hi and :welcome: All 44 pages in one morning! WOW! Who needs housework??

I wish my countdown ticker looked like yours...so close! How exciting! :cool1:

Oh.. YAY!! An update!!:yay: We love Epcot too!! There is always soooo much to see in this park and we're usually so excited to see everything, that we end up doing both FW and WS on our Epcot day without success because we always miss so much. I like your idea of trying to devote one day to each.:thumbsup2

I don't remember seeing the game that allows you to put yourself in the video game!! How did we miss this??:confused3 My boys would love it!! I will make a point of finding it when we head back!!

Ahh...we love Living with the Land!!:goodvibes I was actually surprised at how much we enjoyed it.;) I was very excited to show Mom when we go back because she is a gardener and would love it also. But I just found out the other day it's going to be down when we are there.:sad2:

Great catch on the Hidden Mickey!!:thumbsup2 (I know I would have totally missed it!!)

:yay: an update... Epcot is my DD21's favorite park...all of them are my fav--I never could pick one over another.
Love the pic of Isiah shaking that booty
I can totally relate with Dan; this past trip having a 2 yr old I just winged it...with the rain and crowds we missed soooo much normally I would have fit EVERYTHING in...including swim time

can't wait for the rest of the story...

Great update!!:goodvibes I am especially curious about the Soarin' fastpass...about what time did it tell you to come back?

We are trying to plan for a future trip, and my plan of action has us making a bee line to Soarin for a fastpass, but I did not know how much time to alot.

Can't wait to read about the rest of your day...anxiously waitingpopcorn::

PS: Were you able to ride Soarin when you got there, or you preferred the fastpass?? Thanks so much for any info:love:

Hi Missy...

I would have been like Dan and felt all ....but I have come close to a sorts no real TP....maybe? ;)

We have yet to do Innoventions w/ the kids and it has changed so much probably from when we didn in back in the 90's...so I may have to take that into consideration and skip the big stuff and go there first thing when it would be less crowded and more enjoyable :thumbsup2

also love the LwtL pic's another attraction w/ have missed over the last 2 or 3 trips...I always have enjoyed that one too...and my DH is a big fan of the brussel sprout too

We always feel rushed through WS and I was hoping that by devoting an entire day there, we would not feel that way this time.

I always feel that way, too!

This did not sit well at all with my son Dan. He is a planner like his mom and he kept wanting to know what the plan was...”let me see the card, mom.” He means my index card of the day’s plan which usually includes an order of the day’s planned activities. Today’s card said pretty much what you just read above. I kept telling him the plan was that we had no plan....

Funny how some family members "rebel" at the plan, and other feel so much more comfortable having one! :confused3

(Billy's been verbally rattling off all the attractions he wants to see at each park using old park maps.... I just know he's got "virtual index cards" in his head!!)

As we meandered our way into the park we decided to check out Innoventions West..... The first thing we spotted was a KimPossible kiosk and, thanks to great advice from my good DISfriend Carissa, we stopped to get a FP for our KP mission.

I will be sure to recycle that advice and use it myself! :thumbsup2

The next thing that grabbed the boys attention was a game that allowed you to put yourself into a video game. I can’t remember what it was called, but this thing was WAY COOL! :cool1:

That DOES sound cool!! I've never seen that one.... definitely going to look for it!!

Here are a few shots of the boys morphing into video game heroes!

Dan capturing his “jump”

Isaiah doing his booty victory dance! He was cracking me up!
FridayEpcot--Disney200923.jpg

How did you ever manage to tear them away from that game?? It sounds awesome!!

After conquering the cyber-world, we headed over to this attraction to help make the real world safer.

FridayEpcot--Disney200921.jpg

Now, this one I know! It's one of our favorites... glad you had fun, too!

As we exited, the boys wanted a picture on the firetruck.
FridayEpcot--Disney200920.jpg

Ahhh, now what boy could resist?

We are big HOT pepper fans in my house so I had to get this picture!

Up next...faces only a mother could love!

Hmmm... are you going to the Imagination Pavilion, I wonder??

Such a fun morning, Missy! You "planned" it well!!!

This strategy worked fairly well for us, but I've also heard of people doing the West side of the park one day (The Land, The Seas, Canada, UK..) then the East the other (TT, MS, Universe of Energy, Mexico, Norway).

I don't remember seeing the game that allows you to put yourself in the video game!! How did we miss this??:confused3 My boys would love it!! I will make a point of finding it when we head back!!

It was almost directly ahead as you entered the doors just past SSE. SO cool..your boys would get a kick out of it!

Dan and I enjoyed looking for the Hidden Mickey's this trip. I think if we go again, I'll invest in the book for him.

I hesitate to say Epcot is our favorite too....because we LOVE all of the other parks too! But we always seem to want to spend the most time here so I think it's our favorite!

Hmmm....honestly I wish I could give you a better answer, but I have no idea what time the return window was for Soarin'. We had no intention of coming back to ride during that time..we planned all along to use them on our way out of the park mid-afternoon. (you know you can use them AFTER the return time, just not before, right?) SO...I guess the time must have been before 3 or so because I think we headed out of the park by 4. I think we picked them up around 10:30...I hope that is somewhat helpful.

Again, we were on our way to WS so we didn't plan to ride Soarin' at that time..just to get FPs and use them later. We don't usually stand in any stand-by line that is more than 30 minutes....unless FPs are not a possibility. The DIS has spoiled us! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

I really think park opening would be the best time because everyone else is rushing to get the big ticket attractions out of the way. Having 2+ days at Epcot really allowed us some freedom like that!

Thanks for the reply! It DOES help. I had no idea that you could use Fastpass at any time after the time on the pass!! Best tip anyone has given me:cool1:

We did not have to use fastpass last time (it was slow) SO I am a fastpass Virgin!

I think we will ride it on the way out also. Thanks!

Hmmm... are you going to the Imagination Pavilion, I wonder??

Such a fun morning, Missy! You "planned" it well!!!

Kathy

Thanks Kathy...so far my "not a touring plan" touring plan has served us well. And it is funny that Dan has TOTALLY embraced the touring index card..it's like he doesn't know what to do without it!

It was very hard to pull the boys from that game! They would have continued making new moves and playing the video game all morning! It was fun because you could record the moves until you liked the way they looked on screen...the boys had a blast trying new dances, jumps, etc!

Nope..not the Imagination pavilion..good guess though!

Oh good, I'm glad I could help! I have NEVER had an issue with using a Fastpass AFTER the return time....I suppose if they wanted to be particular they could turn you away, but in 2 trips and many, many uses of FPs after the return window, I think that is rare if it happens at all. ;)

Sounds like a fun morning in Epcot!!! I cannot WAIT to hear about your time at the WS!! The WS is my favorite part of Epcot!!

Hi, I've been reading your TR, but mostly lurking. One thing I wanted to ask...did you think Innoventions had much for little kids to do? My boys are 2 and almost 5. I remember loving it in there on my honeymoon, but I couldn't remember if there were things for little ones to do. Thanks!

I'm so glad our mistake helped someone else! :goodvibes

I was just saying in someone else's TR that I don't think we've ever been in that Innoventions building. I believe we only did one of them on our first trip and haven't been back since. I wasn't feeling well when we did it and I think we need to revisit next time!

I love Living With the Land, too. I just find it so relaxing and interesting.

When I was little and we visited Epcot, I loved innoventions. It had this console where you could use a touch screen to finger paint and this was the coolest thing ever to me. We once cut through Innoventions to get somewhere and I didn't reralize we were just cutting through, so I like sprinted to that console like I had a homing beacon and played for like five minutes before my parents found me!

I'm excited to see an update! I've been following your TR, as we have a similar family dynamic....see my sig :)

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your experience at Epcot!

The WS is our favorite too! I love to explore the little shops, watch the shows, etc! We spent a LOT of time in the WS this trip and I'm so glad we did!

I did cheat though - I skipped everybody's else's comments!!

Cheating is totally allowed! That's why I gave you a cheat sheet! ;)

Hmm...probably not too much for the 2 year old, but I'm sure plenty that the 5 year old would enjoy. The velcro kiosk was definitely geared toward the littler ones.

Fun update! Great pics, as always!:)

Hi there! Thank you!

I'm so glad our mistake helped someone else! :goodvibes

Me too...thanks so much!

I think this is the first time in all my Disney trips I've been in that building! The boys definitely enjoyed it and next time we'll have to check out the other one!

I love Living With the Land, too. I just find it so relaxing and interesting.

Me too!! Does that make me a nerd? :rotfl:

LOL! Touch screens are so common now, but I remember when they were cutting edge!!

Hi and thanks for saying hi! I see you have 3 boys too...isn't it an adventure!! LOL! :goodvibes

Soarin’ FPs in hand, we exited the Land and headed toward the bridge that would take us into our very favorite place in Epcot...the World Showcase! :woohoo::woohoo:But before we became world travelers on foot, it was time to let our taste buds to a little traveling of their own. The best place to do that? CLUB COOL of course! :thumbsup2

Just a pretty pic as we made our way to the buffet of international sodas!

Now, my family had tasted the dreaded Beverly before, but I assure you that you are never really prepared for the bitter aftertaste that drink lays on you....the following pics are not staged, but very real! LOL! :rotfl:

First victim....Jonah! That smile won’t last long!
FridayEpcot--Disney20099.jpg

SEE?? Told ya!
FridayEpcot--Disney20098.jpg

Next up....Isaiah and Jeff. Cheers!
FridayEpcot--Disney200911.jpg

And......the money shot!
FridayEpcot--Disney200910.jpg

One more because they’re funny!
FridayEpcot--Disney200912.jpg

I only taste the ones I know taste good...I’m no fool! ;) I like the watermelon one the best. My kids love Club Cool and I think we must have visited 3 or 4 times....I didn’t even go in the last time...I’d had enough! My boys (Jeff included) loved getting the newbies to taste Beverly by telling them how delicious it is....SUCKERS!! :lmao:

It was a gorgeous day and as we headed out into the beautiful sun and toward WS, we passed the spray fountain on the bridge...I think it has a name, but I can’t remember it for the life of me. Since today was a “no plan” day, we let the boys take off their shoes and play in the water. This area is usually packed, but today it was blissfully uncrowded!

I wanted to take a picture of the new decorations and signs for the Celebrate theme. Very cute!

Those Mickey balloons just make me happy!

A time check tells us it’s 11:30 and bad things are going down in Norway.....time to go help KimPossible save the world! :cool2:

Hi there- following along and really loving your TR! We will be hitting WDW about the same time as your trip report- April 10th -18th... can you give any insight about the crowds you experienced? We have always gone in October and loved it and feel a bit out of our element planning for Spring Break crowds. But definately looking forward to that beautiful Flower and Garden Festival!
