Hello From The Disney Wonder!

I am here in the internet cafe on board the Wonder for the DVC Member Cruise! I see MarkRG has done a great job of filling everyone in on some cruise details in another thread.

Just a couple of things I have noted. The Castaway Cay Post Office was also flying a DVC Member Flag above its building today! Very cool!

When Crissup and I checked in, we were approached by a photographer and some accompanying CM's. They wanted to shoot us for the Vacation Magic!! He took about a dozen or so photos, and we are hoping at least one ends up in the issue! LOL!

They have given the DVC Members the opportunity to pickup a voucher which is good for up to 50% off the next cruise booked with points. There are instructions on how to book using the 11 month window, and also instructions on how to book up to 14 months from now with points, and the discount! Very exciting!!

I renewed my Disney Collector's Society Membership, as did Crissup, and we received not only the 2003 sculpture, but a special gift for DVC Members renewing on board! It is a beautiful passport, travel case commemorating the DVC Member Cruise. I plan on keeping not only my passport, but all my Disney related membership cards in there! Very useful and a great freebie!

I will post more information later, but wanted to just check in with a few tidbits! Take care all....

Another tidbit. There is a "Member Challenge" game everyone can participate in and the grand prize is a free year's worth of DVC Dues, up to $1,500!! It is similar to a scavenger hunt, but looking for people not objects, lol.

John picked me up some DVC temporary tattoos at the DVC Desk, lol. Now I have to figure out what body part to display them on, LOL!!

Another gorgeous day here in beautiful Nassau. I just finished a manicure and pedicure in the Spa and not sure what the day holds for me. Perhaps some souvenir shopping on the island and maybe Atlantis for a bit. I will let ya'll know later what I ended up doing.

What a nice break this is from the frigid temps in New England this winter!

We have received some great gifts each day from the DVC! Yesterday was a really cute blue with logo carry bag and today we received two gorgeous DVC Member Cruise T-shirts, also in blue with logos on front and back. We are scheduled to wear them tomorrow on our second Castaway Cay day for a group member picture! Wondered why we were choosing our T-shirt sizes at the Port check in desk, lol!!

We were on the Disney Wonder Jan. 5 thru the 8th. Had a great time. It was a little cool, however. I am glad to see they are giving point discount to DVC members. I used points to book my cruise and as it turned out wish I had paid cash. There were steep cash discounts that made the cash deal more attractive than points.

Notwithstanding this issue we all had a great time and best of all I did not get sea sick. Enjoyed Nassau and Castway Cay!! Enjoy the remainder of your trip.

Yes, the DVC Voucher for another cruise booking is only available to those cruising on board the ship now, as an incentive to rebook. From hearing the DVC folks talk on board, it looks like they will be doing another one of these not too far off. Many are asking for a 7 day DVC Cruise so we shall see.


Well I bought an add on at Beach Club Villas on board here today!! They offered some specials, as much as a $15 buy back per point at both Vero and Hilton Head, but I went for the location I knew I would want the 11 month window at. That gave me a buy back price of $10 per point, which was used towards my deposit.


So they had run out of the commemorative crystal given to DVC members purchasing add-on's on board here. Very interesting the folks running the Members Clubhouse on board recognized our Board here right away and my position as mod! LOL!!

Anyway, I am off to a great invitation only reception in the Walt Disney Suite shortly! It will be hosted by various DVC Dignitaries and I am anxious to meet them as well as view the best suite on the ship! I will let you all know tomorrow how that goes. G'nite for now!

. I hope if they do another DVC members cruise(either 4 or 7 day) they let members know at least between 7-11 months out for booking ressies. Have fun in the Walt Disney Suite!!
