Hello from the 11/6 Magic cruise !

Hello Magic - hope all is well on your cruise.

Enjoy CC - is that on Friday?:D

Yep, CC is tomorrow. I can't wait. This will be my first time to snorkel and we are going to rent kayaks-we have one at home but we all love it. It is very windy this morning. All of the doors in our room were moving. Seafood buffet for lunch today and lobster for dinner tonight. Mickey and Minnie are coming out for autographs! We can't wait. Disney Dreams this afternoon-there is so much to do on at sea days! Hope everyone else that is on is having as much fun as we are. I can see how people get addicted to cruising!

We are booked in room #7127 for the Jan 29 western...is it a quiet room? a good location to get around the ship, DD is 4 1/2 and will be in the camp so need good access.

Hope Grand Cayman is okay, we are just going to tour on our own, keeping our big excursions for Cozumel.

What time did the shops open up after leaving Port Canaveral, have to make sure I get certain items before they sell out.

Which nights were the different shows and did anyone do late seating with a 4 1/2 year old? still deciding if we need to get wait listed for eary setting.

Thanks for all the info

A few years ago when we sailed, our son was almost 5 and we had late seating. It actually worked out very well because we'd play all day and then all take a late afternoon nap (around 3:30). He'd wake up just in time for a room service snack before the show, and then was well rested for dinner. A lot of nights he ended up asking to go to the Oceaneer's Club after dinner and since he'd taken such a late, long nap, we could let him go for a while.

mommy2mrb-The shops opened soon after we left. I remember going that first night. Sizes sell out more than anything. I watched a pair of pajamas and by Thursday morning my size was gone-no big deal, I knew if I really wanted them, I had to get them early.

Monday's show was Golden Mickeys and Thursdays was Disney Dreams. I only know because they offered matinees of both since our 3 year old can't stay up late enough to go to the shows. I know tomorrow is the Farewell one and Wednesday they did a special showing of "The Incredibles." I'm sorry-I don't know about Tuesday or Sunday.

Cantsitstill-it rained a little when we were coming into GC-like soft sprinkles and it did it again for a few minutes yesterday morning before we got off the ship at noon in Cozumel....just really soft rain though that you barely notice. It's really different.

Taeja71-thanks for the tip on the Disney Dreams-it was amazing! The three of us loved it! not to be missed.

Hope that helps! Ginny

How does GC look? We'll be there in less than 2 weeks...........

I'd love to hear more about Grand Cayman, too. Did shore excursions go smoothly and were most people happy?

Thanks to all onboard who provide these updates!:sunny:

I decided to check in to see if there was any news on the November 6 cruise... my brother, his wife, baby and the extended in-laws are on this cruise. They are celebrating my sis-in-law's grandparents' 60th anniversary.

I sure hope they are having the times of their lives since I was the one who talked them into going on a Disney cruise!

Movies-The Incredibles, Mr. 3000, Princess Diaires 2, The Village,

Yoga/Pilates-they must still be charging as today at CC it was complimentary.

Cozumel was really nice. We did the Dolphin Discovery and it was nice but wouldn't do it again. It's expensive and they tell you that you spend 30 minutes in the water is all but other than that they are making you feel like cattle the entire time. They herd you into the theater, herd you down the pier and into taxis. Then they started the informational speech before we got there and it was basically what you were going to do and see. There wasn't an area just to view them or places like an aquarium that you get knowledge from it-you know? They video tape about 10 minutes of it and when you are done with the 30 minute water time they herd you again to this room like you have no other choice but to sit there and watch this video which is fine but bordering on cheesy. Then you are released to a nice gift shop to pick up your pictures-I don't remember the price but it was higher than on board here. We didn't get any. The people in the gift shop crowd you and hurry you to a register. Ok-I guess I wasn't happy with this, was I??? Ha, ha! Once you start to write and it comes out it's really funny how displeased you are with something. Wouldn't do it again. The park is NOTHING like what they describe. We went there and came right back. I would do the stingrays next time but this is about what was available for 3 year olds.

Diving-my husband went scuba diving in Cozumel and GC and loved them both! Highly recommend them, he said. He would love to go back.

The shops in Cozumel were cheap-Hanes type t shirts for $5/each. Carlos and Charlies was good but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it with small kids. They do the shots there where the server gives you the shot and then comes around from back and rubs your chest-women read breasts! and then slaps your behind. Now I know I'm prude but sheesh! ;-) What a wake up call. The food was very good and so were the drinks though.

I loved this trip and enjoyed being able to share it with those that care! Thanks-Ginny

Thanks - that is what I thought.. James

Did anyone go to Stingray City in GC??

Hi all.....
So sorry I never followed-up after my initial post. We had just waaaay too much fun !
As for rain, it spritzed for about 10 min in GC (at least where we were) and in the evening on Cozumel night. The Pirates In the Caribbean party on deck 9 got rained-out at the very end. Darn, because we were really having fun too !
I did the stingray snorkel in GC with Capt Marvin. Excursion went smooth. The water was a little choppy so we didn't get to snorkel at the reef, but we were able to snorkel at Coral Gardens and one other spot they call the Aquarium or something. We saw a moray eel too. The sting ray experience was amazing. The water is only about waist deep but it was kind of choppy so I kept getting knocked around. The rays enjoyed tripping people in our group but they were very gentle giants (and some were really quite large). There was a videographer on board the boat with us and we paid the $66 for a DVD of our entire snorkeling and stingray experience. VHS was around $55. After the rain stopped when we first got in the boat the sun came out and it was beautifully warm.
On Cozumel we did the Fury Sail/Snorkel/Beach excursion. Initially I thought we made a mistake. They hearded us on to this 65 ft catamaran like cattle. For the first 15 min I was not pleased. Then we were allowed to spread out and it got better. The snorkeling was fun but we didn't see as much as we had in GC the previous day. They took us to a "private" beach where I suppose they're contracted with and you could kayak or float on rafts at no charge. Beer, soda and margaritas were free-of-charge. They served $8 cheeseburgers with potato salad. Only food offered so pack a snack if u don't want to pay this. It is a 4-5 hour excursion from start to finish so you will get hungry. You can ride horses along the beach for $20/person with a guide. My dh and dd did this. They enjoyed it. They saw several iguanas, but really got bitten by mosquitos so have repellent on. On the sail back to the Magic, the crew (cheers to Willy !) really got us all going. Music and line dancing on the front of the catamaran. We were cheering quite loudly by the time we reached the ship. A fun day.
Someone asked about movies on board : Incredibles, Confessions of Teen Drama Queen, Princess Diaries II, Ladder 49, Alamo, The Village, Mr 3000, Finding Nemo, Brother Bear, Home on the Range, King Arthur. Hmmm, did I forget any ?
Again, sorry I never got a chance to check back in. Just having too much fun. Thanks to everyone for their nice comments. We just got home today so I'm trying to adjust to "real" life again.

My DH is not real sure about going to all of our late dinner seatings. He wants to be "flexible" with our meals, my question is which nights are a must do! We are sailing on the Jan 29 Magic.

I would like to do:

Sat, Sun, Mon, Thurs (Formal Night?) and Fri

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
