Arrived yesterday and only here for 2 nights then over to VWL.

We are in a one-bedroom waaaaaaayyyyyy over, almost as far as you can get from the lobby. Just a couple doors down is the stairs to get to the parking garage. Not very convenient. If we were staying longer I wouldn't be very happy with our view. We basically have the corner of the savannah. The only animals we have seen have been one ostrich and a couple of okapi. The only sighting of giraffes have been over by the pens - which are in full view - while they are waiting to be fed. Not sure if they can even get over here because of the fence. And yes, we have full view of the fence - our whole view has the fence.

When we were staying a Jambo house in April we were able to come over for the Open House and we liked it and thought we would give it a try. We haven't been to the pool area yet, hopefully later today.

Went to the AK around 1:30 yesterday after we got in. Our room wasn't ready so we stored our stuff and went. Waited about 10 minutes to walk in Yak & Yeti. Then a walk on to Dinosaur even tho the wait time was listed as 25 minutes...???? First time we got stuck for just a short bit...second time we got stuck, in the dark, right before the part at the end when Aladar is holding things up - and we were stuck for quite a while! I started to get a bit of a panic attack and then we decided NOT to try for a third ride.

When we walked by EE there was an empty car stuck going up the mountain - not sure if there had been riders in it! The ride was still closed later.

Tough to be a Bug was a walk-on.

It's hot, but we have been here in the summer before. We left Boston in the 50's so it's nice to wear shorts again.

Off to breakfast and then another adventure! :)

Jill...it's good to be back!

Have fun on your trip. Hope you enjoy both AKV and VWL!

Have fun! Yes, the weather in New Hampshire/Boston is gross and rainy. I'm currently at school in Ithaca, and it's rainy as well. So jealous!

Sorry to hear about the view. I hope the remainder of your trip goes smoothly.

Have a blast - rainy and 50's here in NY. We will be at Kidani in a few weeks - CAN'T WAIT

What are your overall impressions of Kidani? My husband and I stayed there just a week or so after it opened. When I first went into the lobby, I wasn't very impressed because I was comparing it to Jambo House, and it isn't nearly as grand as the lobby over there.

But, after a few days, we really grew to like the cozy feel. We especially enjoyed Sanaa Lounge. There were a few things we didn't like too much. My husband was very annoyed there was nowhere to have breakfast, and I have to agree this is a definite short coming. The walk to Jambo House isn't too bad, but it would still be nice to have counter service somewhere in Kidani.

We ate at Sanaa, which was pretty good. It's not somewhere I would want to eat regularly, but the view of the savanna was incredible. There were giraffes walking past the windows as we ate our lunch. It is a much better atmosphere than Boma in my opinion.

I also didn't like that you have to walk out the front of the resort to get the the pool, and the fitness room is also somewhat unimpressive compared to the one over at Jambo. Of course, they have to accommodate more people at Jambo House, which probably has a lot to do with it.

I think there is room for improvement, but overall, we really enjoyed the trip. I'd be curious to hear what others think.

Thanks for your report and for sharing. Enjoy your trip!

Rainy and 50's in NE Pa also. We are leaving Oct. 8 for 10 days in Fla. with 4 of them at Disney. Can't wait to get to the warmth.
