Hello All,

This is my first post on the DISboards but I have been a lurker for some time now:) The information posted here is so valuable:thumbsup2, especially for a novice like myself!

I have a question about the DL Dining Plan. A friend of mine recently came back from DL and did not use all their vouchers...actually they didn't use most of them. I have almost $800 in dining vouchers to take with me to our trip to DL in June.:yay: How are these used? I know you don't get change back. Are they treated like money with no change given back?

The booklet says if the voucher is detached then it is void, a few of them are detached. However my friend says they don't even check it. She said she just detached them all and handed them back with the bill. Anyone know about this?

Any advice would be much appreciated!:flower3:

I don't know if they expire, but the prices usually reset each year so they may.

If they are still good I'd go ahead and use them. I'd use the detached ones first and only expect trouble if you find a really picky CM.

Yes, you are right on they are like money but you don't get change back, and if you don't have enough you pay the remainder.

My guess is that the vouchers are deemed nontransferable by Disney, so the discussion of using other peoples' dining vouchers is not allowed on the DIS because it's discussing violating park policy.

If the vouchers have names printed on them then I think they would be nontransferable but if they don't have names then it seems like it might be okay to use them. OP, do the vouchers have the other people's name on them? We had dining vouchers one time but it was a little different since they were a gift from Disney (special circumstances) but they didn't have our names on them, just their value. Also, they weren't in any type of book, just loose and we never had any trouble using them. Not sure if they looked just like the "official" dining vouchers or not since i've never had those.

Thank you all for the info.

So these vouchers do not have any name printed on them and they are valid until January 2011. They have different value amounts on them, some say $38, $31, $20, $16, $10.

Can these be used at the snack stands throughout the park?

You should be able to use them at any place that is disney owned (so not at the restaurants in DTD). Also, remember that you won't get any change for them so don't use a $20 voucher to pay for a $3 snack.
