We are trying to decide whether to go sept 9-16 or sept 16-23. Does anyone have any wisdom on which week is less crowded? The first week is 6 days after labor day. Does it matter?. Also i noticed the week of the 16-23, magic kingdom closes an hour earlier than the week before. Does that have anything to do with crowd size? Does it matter that the 16-23 would be last week of free dining? Help!!! Gotta make this decision quick!

I'm not sure what park attendance is truly like historically, but I would think that 9-16 would be pretty dead because a lot of schools just start back up the first week or so in September...so not a lot of families would be making the trip. That would be my pick. :)

I've been the week of Sept. 22 before and it was very slow. I think the later in September the less likely you are to find big crowds. The trade-off, as you mentioned, is that the parks are closed earlier. Honestly, though, it's so much better not to have to stand in lines that I don't think one hour makes much difference. Also, it's still very, very warm!!! Those of us used to late September being "fallish" are very surprised to still be sweating in shorts and Tshirts then!!

Also you may want to see who is playing at those times at Playhouse Disney if you have little ones. It helped us!

We went the last week of Sept last year. Our friends went the week before. It was less crowded for them than for us. I think the free dining does increase the crowds. Don't forget about the love bugs! They were really bad last year. They don't bother me, but my little ones were a little freaked.

technically, free dining can effect the week of Sept22-29th or whenever someone choooses to check out since you can get free dining by starting your visit on the last day (9/22) to be eligible. . .

so I guess don't base your choice on less crowds b/c free diining is ending or anything like that.

that said, it is hot hot hot no matter which week you choose in September.

hhmm, since we are going 9/18-9/25 and there are 6 of us you may want to avoid that time as we do take up lots of room at sit down resaurants and such :lmao:

but I can remember going in months when parks closed at 6pm all week (do they ever do that anymore?) and it was so nice to have the evenings "off" so to speak.

enjoy and have a magical trip!
