Happy the child was found safe!
Having two kids myself (they are now 12 and 14), I would be one of the last people to "blame" the parents. Things happen. Kids are amazing in how they can just seem to vanish from one spot and reappear in another. Turn your back for just a second and they can be gone. They can unlock the best "childproof" locks (how many times have adults asked kids for help to open "childproof" bottles?). Most any other parent knows and has probably experienced this.
I hope they were able to enjoy the rest of their vacation.
