Height Limit on Stitch Great Escape

Why is there a 40" height limit on Stitch? Isn't it just a show? My daughter is 5 but she's short, 38"-ish, and she loves Stitch. We're going to Ohana but for dinner and not sure where else she can see/do anything that's Stitch-ish.

Correct. It is not a "ride."
But, the show can be terrifying for young children.
Many are seen crying when the lights come up.

The room is in total darkness for some of the show,
and things physically happen during the performance that can be very startling and scary.

It's so funny you say this, because mine were 4 and 6 when they went on it the last time we were there, and they both walked out saying, "Mommy, that was really boring, and we don't want to do that again". LOL

I can't wait till they replace this. Something tells me, though, I might have my own grandchildren by the time they do. :/

Thank you!!! That's great to know! This is our first time and the whole "Stitch" thing caught my eyes since dd LOVES Stitch We'll skip it then!!

You may already know, but there are no characters at Ohana at dinner. LILO and Stitch are only at breakfast.

Yup! I have read that there's no characters at dinner. That's why I am trying to find something Stitch related at the park. Does Stitch meet and greet anywhere? Is he popular aka long wait?

My guess would be the 40" height requirement for Stitch is related to the shoulder restraints in this attraction. While it is not a ride, there is a rather larger plastic shoulder harness that lowers down over guests as part of the experience.
When my DS (who is afraid of NOTHING, lol) was five years old, he ABSOLUTELY freaked out during this attraction. Totally scarred him for a number of years....matter of fact, when we were there a few months back, he agreed for the first time to go back on it (he is almost 11 now!).

Stitch meets behind the dance stage in Tomorrowland. I don't think I've seen him out after 2pm though. His line is usually pretty short especially if you catch him as he comes out.

You can find him in the morning at DHS around the sorcerers hat, kenny the pirate has a character schedule on his website so look it up, I'm a big stitch fan too

We don't love this attraction but it's pretty fun. My kids were 7 and 5 the first time and they were fine. With all the hate at least there should be a short line!

I would use the term shoulder restraints loosely. Some people hear that and get freaked out.

OP its basically a fake restraint, the show makes it sound like you need them for safety but its for another purpose.

Not really a spoiler but each seat has it's own set of speakers that are in the "restraints" they lower, touch your shoulders and then move up just a tad to get them in the proper position.

The height requirement was to make sure the speakers are in the right position but its mostly because the prior attraction was very scary and intense even for at the time 40 something me and it gave them a sort of a round a bout age restriction.
