Ok so we go on our trip in less than a month.....going into this I knew that our Daughter wouldnt be able to ride a few things (Matterhorn / Indy) because she is literally like 40", with no shoes on.
With shoes / flip flops she is like 41 +/- ....... my question is will we have any trouble with her riding rides? We will be doing the rider/parent swap as our Son is far from being 40" for this trip.....Thanks!

We are just trying to get our heads around the time we will be there and what to use EE and all for....:thumbsup2

We took my an when he was right at 40". Because she is so close to the height minimum, they will measure her at the front of the ride (before you enter the line) and again before they let you board. I found the measurements to be slightly larger than 40" but. You should be fine if she's 41"+ with shoes on.

A year ago, I took a tape measure to the park with me. With the exception of Jumpin Jellyfish, all rides were exactly what they were supposed to be. Jumpin was 41". That said, remember kids tend to slouch, and everyone tends to get shorter by afternoon. If she is barely making it, make sure you hit the bigger rides early.

"Yeah that!" to all the above. Riding the "must do"s early in the day will help, as well as reminding your child that they need to reach the bar with their head. Most kids try to duck down to avoid hitting their head on the bar, not realizing that if they don't touch the bar, they don't ride. You can also try to have the child raise his/her arms up high to stretch before being measured, which could help as well.

Thanks all! We are going to go get some new shoes for the fam for the trip....Im gonna take a measuring tape with me to the store :thumbsup2

Worse case there are still a lot of rides that are any height or some of the ones that she will be good to go on even at 40" will still be so much fun.....I also know my daughter and I dont want to scare her on our first trip to disney, if she really doesn't want to do something I am not going to force it......Except HM.....We are DOING HM!

Our last trip my son was 39"-39.5" and got on every 40" ride. Including the Jellyfish. They have to stand feet together, looking straight forward. Practice before you leave! He was wearing Stride Rite if that helps. Only ride we didn't try was Soarin! He's 40" solid now so I know he'll have no problems!

We just went to the doctor yesterday and DD (4 1/2) was measuring 39 3/4. We have about 3 months. I'm hoping she hits a growth spurt! She's SO tiny!!

I remember taking my son at 3yo to WDW. He was 39 inches, but he wore tennis shoes, so that added enough. He was able to do Soarin', Star Tours, Big Thunder, and he even wanted to ride Tower of Terror. It's funny how this causes so much angst. My youngest will be just shy of 40 inches for our trip in November (unless she adds 1+), but the shoes should get her over the top. I hope!!!

It's a good idea to practice the "bump" at home before heading to the parks. If their head doesn't touch the bar, they can't ride - but most kids will naturally shrink down a bit because they don't want to hit their heads. For DS, I marked 40" on the wall with a pencil and then held a ruler on the mark and he practiced standing up straight with feet planted on the ground and straightened up to get his head to bump the ruler. Last year her was 41" on our trip (with his shoes on) and they measured him EVERY time except for when we went on RSR during EE. He got really good at taking off his hat and showing the CM he was tall enough.
