My grandson's are both having a birthday in a week or so and these are 2 items they want for their birthday. Does anyone know of a sale or coupons for either item?
Thanks

I bought both of these items for my son for christmas this year, he is 9 and he only had 4 things on his list, so i felt it was my obligation to buy them both.
The PS2 I got at The Game stop, I bought a used one (they guarantee it for a year) it was 109.00..................the heely`s were bought online at heelys.com they were onsale for 60.00 shipped (Modells sporting goods also carries them , but they were more there)
I wouldnt wait til the last minute if you think they`ll be disapointed if they dont get these items. GL HTH!

I just bought a pair of Heeley's for my son's recent 8th bday. I was able to get them with a coupon for $47.99 (orig. $59.99), from a store called Bob's. I live in northern NJ, so I don't know if there are any of those stores by you. I had a pair from Modells and Sports Authority, unless you have a coupon for them, they told me they don't go on sale. I do recommend getting the next size up as they do run a little small. The next size fit my son great. I have to say it's also been very amusing watching him try to learn how to use them. :rotfl: Hope this helps!

Is it really hard for them to get the hang of it. DD wants a pair and I am afraid she will end hurting herself before she learns to use them. :confused3

My boys, 9 and 11, got Heely's in mid January at Sports Authority, also ($59.99). It took the 9 year old about 2 hours of skating around with me holding onto him, to get pretty good at it. My older son took about half an hour. I made both wear helmets.
I think the hardest part is that they have to get used to holding up the front part of their feet, while concentrating all their energy on the heels. Both boys had sore ankles for a few days. My nine year old still loves his Heely's after about 4 weeks and has no trouble using them, but the eleven year old is already tired of them.

I won't let him where them to school yet. He'll have to improve his skills A LOT before we allow that. He originally wanted them in kindergarten, I was completely opposed to that. But now that he's 8, and let me throw in there not the most coordinated, he'll figure it out and offer live entertainment while he's doing it. ;) You know your daughter best. If you don't think she's ready for them, then wait.

 Actually, if you go to the heeleys website, www.healys.com (I think), they you can find out what stores in your area sell them. By that you can gauge what coupons if any you can find to use. :thumbsup2

My DD is an accident waiting to happen. So I just might be holding off on them. She hasn't said anything about them in a couple of weeks. So I will just hold off for now.

Thanks.

Thank you for the all of the ideas. I think I will check to see where Heeleys are sold and then look for coupons. Great idea!

My son took about 2 days to get used to his heelys when he was 7. He's an avid ice hockey skater. He loves them.

Maybe I am just getting old and crabby, but I don't think they belong in stores, school etc with them. Kids are skating all over stores etc and running into people.

my DD8 is determined to save up enough allowance to buy her self some Heely's...we have a Bob's store near us. Do you mind if I ask where you got the coupon from? Thanks!

Which style of Heelys do your kids have? I do not know which ones to get. These would be for kids who are 9 and 8.

The kids here are only allowed to wear them to school, if the wheels are removed. There is a little cover that goes over the wheel port, after you pop the wheel out with an included key.

bradleysnana, My 9 yo has either the rebel or the laser. He has one his brother has the other. They are the $59 ones. We couldn't see any difference between the $59 ones and the $79 ones. The salesman couldn't show me a difference other than shoe design, either.

Yeah, my DS, 8, has the Laser ones. Someone told me that the names of the styles indicate how fast the wheels are. I have no idea if that is true or not. :confused3

There was a coupon in the Sunday paper. They also have a rewards card that if you join they will send stuff in the mail. Good luck!!! :)

I agree.. I work in Costco and see kids daily zooming around in them. I can see a lawsuit coming when one of them trips and falls.

I hate them too...I work at BRU and see kids rolling around in them all the time...sometimes I just want to put my leg out and trip them :rotfl: (only kidding)
