We are staying at "Pop Centuary". How do we heat up bottles and keep thing cold? I found out I can rent a refrigerator and micowave but are the rooms big enough?

might be a stupid question but if it is formula then why not just make them as you go along with room temp/warm tap water?

But yes the fridge would fit and the microwave on top of it I'd guess. It will be TIGHT though as those rooms are tiny.

Just fill the sink with hot water and put the food in the hot water to warm it up. Much safer than a microwave where you can get hot spots that burn.

When you're in the parks, don't forget about the baby care centers. You can heat up food and make formula in all of those. You also have wonderful changing facilities and rocking chairs, etc. Keep them in mind.:yay:

Does the POP have a food court with a microwave? Perhaps you could use it to heat up the bottles, etc. I always ran them under hot water or placed them in a bowl of hot water until they were warm enough. I have a friend who is a maternity nurse and she once told me that warming up the bottles are just a preference for baby and that it's not going to hurt him/her to drink a cold bottle:) I would skip the micro but you might need a fridge if you keep milk or juice in the room. They have baby care centers at each park that also have microwaves to heat a bottle or babies food... Also a great place to change baby and give him/her a meal or snack or nurse ( if you are nursing your baby). They have baby food and formula/diapers I think to purchase if you need them as well.

i would never heat a bottle in the microwave, but that's just me. fill up the sink or a cup or something with some hot water and let the bottle sit in it for a while. you could even use the coffee pot carafe - i think they are available in every room, right? if that doesn't work for you - you can certainly get a bottle warmer from a baby store (maybe even rent from a baby's best friend?) they aren't that big so it wouldn't take up too much space in your luggage and then you would have it available at home as well.

our dd was a formula baby (as the next one will be as well). we just made sure to start her off on room temperature formula right away and it made life easier everywhere we went. i have fed her in the car, at the zoo, restaurants, parties, i even had to feed her one morning in the pastor's office at our church during a meeting! the pastor had never seen anyone feed their child so easily by not needing to warm the bottle first! :) it's probably one of the best pieces of advice i received.

good luck!

Looks like your baby will be around 9 months old at the time of your trip? I wouldn't think you would need heated bottles by that age - just use room temperature water in your bottles to make the formula.

Also, I never heated baby food so both of my kids were fine eating straight from the jar. The baby centers in each of the parks have facilities for heating bottles/food but they are not always convenient. Also, by that age, your baby can probably eat a lot of table food so you might not even need to worry about the baby food. I know my youngest child was on straight table food and regular milk by 10 months.

Use warm water to make them if they are with powder formula, if they are liquid or bm, then Use hot water in a coffee cup or sink and let them sit in it. When at a restaurant just as for 1/2 cup of hot water and sit your bottle in it. Mine were heated in no time.

What you could do also is try to get your baby to take bottles that are slightly cooler plus 3 months from now it will be very hot out she/he may not want to have a warm bottle when its hot out. just a thought

Pop Century doesn't have coffee pots in the rooms. Tap water should work fine.

You can also get a styrofoam cooler and keep it filled with ice to keep your cooler stuff cool.
