Well I have been a long time lurker and infrequent poster on other threads, but this site has been something that has given me a lot of inspiration over the past six months or so. I am finally taking the plunge and starting my own journal for accountability. :thumbsup2
Anyway I am twenty four years old and I currently weigh 220lbs :scared1: I really wish that I could type another number but this is about accountability and I can't hide any more, even if I want to. I just can't believe that I have gotten this heavy:confused3 It doesn't help that my DH weighs about 70lbs less than I do! Oh well !
So my plan is pretty simple burn more calories than I take in, if only it were that easy:lmao: So far today I haven't done horrible.
B- skipped (bad I know but I wasn't feeling well)
L- 1.5 hot dogs (at least I listened when my stomach told me it was full!)
S- 1/2 cup frosted wheat and 1/2 cup milk
D- a huge salad with 1tbls ranch dressing, about 3oz sirloin and cup of chili
desert- no sugar added fudgesicle (even though I wanted baskin-robbins)

So there were definitely some not so good moments but also some good choices. For exercise I did 30min of dancing with the stars workout and also vacuumed and cleaned the house:laundy:
Lets see how I do tomorrow!

:welcome: Heather! Sounds like your off to a great start. You'll find lots of support here with really great people. Everyone is here for you. Good luck on your journey. :goodvibes

Well today wasn't too bad. I did 20 min of cardio this morning and some power shopping (does that count toward my exercise total:rotfl: ). I have been packing getting ready for my move. My husband and I are going to be moving down to either Mountlake Terrace or Lynnwood Washington at the end of August, and we are going on the Med cruise at the beginning of August:scared1: ! Too much to do and not enough time.

Well I did alright today foodwise
B- 3/4 cup frosted mini wheats 3/4 cup milk
L- Arby's roast beef sandwich and 24 oz diet pepsi (I really wanted fries but I resisted!:woohoo: )
D- 3oz burger no bun wrapped with bacon, 8-10 fries, 1/2c corn and 3/4c brocoli
dessert- watermelon
S- fudgicicle

Not too shabby, I resisted the fries and Mrs Field's cookies!!
Well I am going to rest now and get ready for work:laundy:

Hi Heather welcome to wish :)
Good luck with your healthy lifestyle plan, you'll get lots of help here & make a few friends too ;)
Looks like your off to a good start :)

Hello Heather! Welcome!

You certainly will find kindered souls here. I know I have!

So, I read you have a dancing with the stars work out. My dd LOVED that show. She is also on a weight loss quest with me. Could I ask about it? Is it fun, easy, and does it keep your attention for more than 3 weeks? And, where did you find it.

Sorry for all the questions!

Keep up the great start!

Wendy

Wow it has been really long since I have had a moment to breathe let alone read the boards. Any way I have been doing pretty good, had good moments and bad ones. Although in the long run I think there have been more good ones than bad ones:woohoo: . The past six days i have done really good on exercising, the past two days I did an hour each day on the elliptical at the gym and on the weekend I worked so I didn't do any formal exercise but I took the stairs as much as possible (can't push a patient in a wheelchair down the stairs:rotfl2: ) averaging about 20 flights each day and then of course as a nurse I am moving a decent amount at work. Foodwise I seem to always have one not so good meal a day, but usually it is controlled better than before, like for dinner tonight we had pizza but I only had one slice and then had a salad so not all bad:cheer2: Well I have to go, it is beautiful outside so I may go for a walk if I can convince my husband;)

BTW Wendy the video seems fun, I have only done it a few times so I can't tell if it will hold my attention for more than a few weeks . I got mine at Fred Meyers (a department store in the northwest) but I think that Walmart has it too.

This morning I got a good suprise, I didn't have to go in until 1100, instead of 700. :cool1: It worked out great too because I hadn't woken up in enough time to go to the gym, but since i had an extra 4 hours I went and did another hour on the elliptical.
Food was really good also.
730- slim fast 180cal
1030 - 3/4 c ham pasta salad from the gym 200
1400- lean cuisine meal 330
1730 - lean cuisine meal 300
2020 - cereal 200
total calorie 1240
And I burned 700 at the gym:woohoo: :cool1:

I was going to go for a walk this evening but now it is a little late. I stopped to get gas (my gas light was on) and when I got to the station I realized I left my wallet at home and I had to call my husband to have him meet me at the station:mad: :headache: Oh well. There is always tomorrow

It is always so hard for me to exercise on the days that I work because I work twelve hour days and I am kinda tired after my shift and It is soooooo hard to wake up early enough to go to the gym. I gotta try harder:yay: :yay: :yay:

Your doing awesome Heather, especially with such a demanding job!
Glad you didnt try to take any of those wheelchairs down the stairs :)
Keep up the great work!

Doing wonderfully at the gym. I Know work can be crazy. I am in food service and it is the busy season.

Take care

Wendy

Well it's been a while. My husband and I are finishing packing because all our stuff is being picked up July 20th! I really miss my couch:lmao: . We aren't going to move it so we sold it. So I have been doing pretty good on workouts, at least on my days off ( good thing I have four of them:rotfl2: ) And my diet has been good, since all my pots and pans and cooking utensils are packed I have been eating a lot of frozen meals, automatic portion control:thumbsup2 . Well I am going to get to bed so that I can hopefully wake up and go to the gym before going to work.

I'm just catching up, Heather. Your cruise is almost here, isn't it???

Hope the moving stuff is going smoothly. Always so hard!!

Have a GREAT weekend!

You are doing great! You seem very busy! I haved moved many times and can't say it's much fun

I hope you have a great med cruise.

Have a great week!

Hi Heather.

Sounds like you are certainly busy with moving and such.

Keep in tune with you!

Wendy

Hey thanks for all the support. I am soooooo sorry that it has been so long but between work and the move it has been hectic and now I don't have a computer:scared1: Any way i am still losing slowly but surely and i appreciate you thoughts. i am leaving for the med in a few days and I will try to post on the ship but I will be incomunicado for a while. So i will write when i can

Have a great time Heather!

Enjoy the trip!

Wendy

Ok so obviously been a while since i have posted on the boards. Not too surprising without using the boards to keep my self honest I haven't been doing too well. I had at one time gotten down to 205 but am now as of this morning I am back up to 222:sad2: :sad1: :scared: . Anyway so I have decided to get back on the boards to see if I can stay honest. I went to the gym this morning for the first time since we moved back at the end of August and did 30 minutes on the elliptical:woohoo: :woohoo: I am definitely out of shape and need to get my endurance up. But baby steps right.

Food wise I could definitely do better, but I have decided no more soda or candy. I had given it up but with all the stress I fell off the wagon and back into the sugar:lmao: . Anyway I am making a new CD for the gym cuz I can't find my Ipod and the gym is very boring without music.

Hopefully when my schedule changes next week it will be easier to eat better and go to the gym more consistently cuz right now I am on night shift and either sleeping like 2 hours a day or like 14 and I am tired all the time and never get to see my husband so I am not happy. But after thanksgiving I will be on days again:cool1: :cool1: . well gotta go but hopefully you all will hear from me a lot more.

Well done for getting back on the wagon!!!
Hopefully now life has calmed down a little it will be easier for you to keep going, life does have a habit of getting in the way!! ;)
