Heated Pools

I'm a new member and plan on visiting in January. Are the pools heated?

As HBC correctly pointed out, the pools are all heated. Though when you get out, it could be quite chilly!

Grandma, you'll find the weather is pretty unpredictable for swimming in January. Some winters it's a little cool for Florida residents but absolutely tropical for snow bunnies from Michigan. If that's the case, you'll do fine in the heated pools as long as you have a fluffy wrap for when you get out. But once in a while there is a Florida Freeze when the weather dips slightly below freezing. On those days, the only visitors in the pool come from northern Canada! My advice is to watch the long-term weather forecast as your trip approaches, and pack accordingly.

They are definately heated - but the surrounding air is not. I've been in pools in frigid Jan weather (around 45-50 at night) and it's great in the pool, but the walk there, between the pool and the hot tub, and the walk back is a challenge!

And while you are soaking in the heated water, you get to look at the lifeguards in their winter duds.

Thank you for all warm welcomes and replies. Maybe I'll postpone my vacation for when it gets a little warmer. Although, it would be nice to get out of Michigan at that time.

Unfortunately, the pools are not heated in the winter time to the degree that they should be. DVC could provide more comfortable wintertime swimming if they did a better job at heating the pools.
